FBI urges vigilance for July 4

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

GlaxoSmithKline is not the only pharm company that does this. I worked in the Drug Regulatory Affairs department while in in college. Most pharm co. have their testing labs off US shores. Human trials on drugs are performed off shores for most drugs.

I don't mean to punch holes in Franks if he is your hero and he IS a fine "conventional" soldier and Iraq was a conventional type conflict. It's just that the WOT calls for unconventional in the shadows down and dirty type SpecOps guys and Franks hates them. It goes back to Vietnam, I think.

I used to live in Northern Arkansas. After a day of being outside, take a bleach or skin-so-soft bath, it will usually do the trick, then shower off.

Usually an alcohol swap on a tick will make it poke it's head out and you can get rid of it.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) ????

I don't know if this is anything or not, but a friend who's enroute to spend the 4th of July with her mother in Long Beach, called on her cell phone to ask if we'd turn on our TV or get online and check wire services.

She was stopped in traffic near the exit for LAX......the area where planes fly over the freeway as they come in for a landing. Usually there's 10 - 15 airplanes in view waiting to approach. She said she had been stuck at a dead stop for a while, and there's no planes landing, and no planes can be seen taking off.

While she was sitting in traffic, a lane was cleared for emergency vehicles, and a series of bomb-squard trucks roared by.

My dau. called her back on her cell phone to tell our friend that we can't find anything online or on TV. Our friend said that after the bomb squad was let through, traffic was allowed to move again, and she's now beyond the area where you can see the planes coming in or taking off.
