If there were no restrictions on age, weight, fitness, etc., would you sign up to join the War on Terror??
This is a vanity poll, due to the news today that the Army may be dipping into the Individual Ready Reserve pool. Several Freepers have indicated they would go if called upon, but they don't think they will be called due to their age.

I probably would; but they wouldn't take me now, because I'm 48 and not in the best physical shape! But when I was about early 20's, I really considered it! I didn't know if they would take me then either, since I have Hypothyroidism. Still, I was tempted!

I am a Technology professional with 25+ years experience.
They could use my help IMHO) -- I am considered to be one of the tops in my profession, but I have no way to do help the war effort.
This is too long a thread to hit everyone, but may I please say thank you Sir (I assume) for your service to our Country.
Kathy: Military ping (if one isn't already done). I think we have a great combination of kids, semi-old farts (like me) who didn't get a chance to serve, some a little older, and True Americans who have proven their mettle in uniform.
Age 48 - very good shape - give me 6 months and I'll be in great shape. Would join if they take me.
