That is not what I am saying and you know it. I'm not saying the death of any American, anywhere should go unanswered. I simply questioned if overwhelming force should be the appropriate reaction in this particular instance and if so, on whom. Furthermore, if a person makes a concious decision to gamble with his life by staying in an unstable situation and is then killed by the very savages that he knew to be all around him.... how many American lives should we risk to avenge his decision making process ?

They only want to "protect us" when it serves their leftist agenda; they know that showing videotape of Americans getting beheaded and/or jumping out of the WTC with babies in their arms inspires feelings of nationalism, which almost always plays into the GOP's favor. That's why they do their best to avoid showing them. On the other hand, airing countless photos of Americans as perpetrators - ie, the Abu Ghraib "scandal" - serves their purposes to a tee.

I'm having the same problem--no place to vent my feelings of impotence. On top of Johnson being beheaded, my son calls from the hospital because he was beaten up and lost his front tooth. Luckily no bones broken but just bruised, bitten and a missing front tooth. I'm so angry with frustration.
They killed him right after they filmed him... 72 hours my arse.
