LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
The command is "Present Arms"
Is that Cheney, Stevens, and Hasert to the side of the casket?
Rain appropriate.
President Bush has left the Whitehouse with Laura on their way to the ceremony.
You're welcome....here's another...towards the end of his second term, when the Dems started accusing him of being too old..Reagan once replied.."Old, no..they say that just because my Social Security # is 2..."
Brief flash of camera shot to show GWB and Laura leaving the WH.
Washington shedding tears for our fallen warrior.
thanks!
See post 439. It's the Navy Hymn. The most famous line is the refrain "For those in peril on the sea."
FOX must have read the comments here excoritating them for their coverage on Wednesday..
I was just readind President Reagan's final letter to the public and was struck by these words: Unfortunately, as Alzheimer's disease progresses, the family often bears a heavy burden. I only wish there was some way I could spare Nancy from this painful experience. When the time comes, I am confident that with your help she will face it with faith and courage. I thought that she has been so faithful & courageous over the past week, and so many Americans have helped her to do that.
Somehow it truly is appropriate.
It's easier to listen to Dan Blather when the CBSwebcam on mute. lol.
CSPAN...no talkingheads. Natural sounds.
Linn37, it is "The Navy Hymn" see my post above. You can Google search on "Navy Hymn" and find a few sits with mp3 renditions available.
I always knew it'd rain on this day.
Yes, she looks like she has had some rest.
It seems that everyone is using the pool cameras.
Yeah. It's raining. The CNN camera just showed the lens filling up with drops. Oh how sad and dreary.
I am at school and all of the T.V.'s are on for the students to see. They are glued to the ceremony. What an awesome opportunity for them.
Nancy has just entered the limousine, someone is speaking to her through the open door. Some of the soldiers are marching off in various directions while those carrying the flags remain near the hearts, at attention. Beautiful images.
