LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
I be excellent. How's about you?
I found somewhere in these approx. 4000 comments a link to an Adobe pdf file that had the music ... will try to find it ... BRB
... not that I read all 4k comments but did quickly skim a thousand or so late Friday ... and did email the pdf link to myself ...
here 'tis, thanks to whomever posted it!

O LOVE OF GOD, HOW STRONG AND TRUE
O love of God, how strong and true!
Eternal, and yet ever new;
Uncomprehended and unbought,
Beyond all knowledge and all thought.
O love of God, how deep and great!
Far deeper than mans deepest hate;
Self fed, self kindled, like the light,
Changeless, eternal, infinite.
O heavenly love, how precious still,
In days of weariness and ill,
In nights of pain and helplessness,
To heal, to comfort, and to bless!
O wide embracing, wondrous love!
We read thee in the sky above,
We read thee in the earth below,
In seas that swell, and streams that flow.
We read thee best in Him Who came
To bear for us the cross of shame;
Sent by the Father from on high,
Our life to live, our death to die.
We read thy power to bless and save,
Een in the darkness of the grave;
Still more in resurrection light,
We read the fullness of thy might.
O love of God, our shield and stay
Through all the perils of our way!
Eternal love, in thee we rest
Forever safe, forever blest.

I used the cyberhymnal.org search to get the words, however, the tune playing at below link is "Brookfield", not "Jerusalem".

'Was just musing to myself that if this were held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in DC. someone could have run over and splashed Hitlery and Bubba with holy water. Was wondering if they would have melted ...'
LOL! Yep, Holy Water. And maybe some consecrated salt.
I've not been in the basilica but drove by there while visiting family last month, and it has a *beautiful* dome!
... otoh ... it is rumored that if a demonic being is hit with consecrated salt or with holy water, they are likely to burst into flames.
At least that's what my DH tells me.
T.G. you said, 'Anyone hear Brit Hume quote John 11:25 there?'
25Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
thank you TG.
E.C., who had to work yesterday so is reading thru now.
[my little mama-dog is a terrier/lab mix.]
D.G. you said, 'Washington-AP -- The officer at Nancy Reagan's side this week is Army Major General Galen Jackman.
As commander of the U-S Military District of Washington, Jackman's duties include overseeing ceremonies in the nation's capital with high-ranking personnel and visiting heads of state. He has offered his arm to Mrs. Reagan all week, accompanying her from California to the U-S Capitol Rotunda.'
thanks for the info. E.C.
Hi Tattooed! you said, 'Just showed Bill and Hill in the Cathedral, I think I saw smoke coming off of them'
Well, my hubby says: "it is rumored that if a demonic being is hit with consecrated salt or with holy water, they are likely to burst into flames"
GMTA!
thank you Mo1 for your link to the words of the Navy Hymn. I have found cyberhymnal.org very helpful for looking up both music and lyrics.

thank you for posting the words to John Winthrop's City upon a Hill, 1630.
Miss Marple .. remember we were talking yesterday about the older Dems?
Sounds like some don't like what the Dems of today have become
(SNIP)
My son is a Republican, and despite that, I love him very much. We are able to have reasoned and wonderful debates about politics. I'll never be able to convince him to switch to my side, any more that he can convince me to switch to his, but I enjoy the debating because whatever our disagreements, it never gets personal, and never gets ugly. What I saw here; that was ugly.
I fear I've gotten too old for the Democratic Party.
NN said: 'It is hard to deny that Ronald Reagan's life was providential.'
Pro, proceeding
Vid, to see
Providential, to go before and see.
I agree, NN, the Lord went before and saw the need, and so He gave us Ronald Reagan.
BUMP.
