LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
I think the Airbus craft is built in the US, but it is a Euro company. Hmmmm.
Yes the caller called Warners a great B movie studio, I almost ran the car off the road when I heard that.
Was he serious or was this a back-handed slap at Reagan as if to say "these people are saying all these great things about Reagan and they must have been on a different planet that me"?
Tonight when the flag is folded over the casket .....the Captain of the U.S.S Ronald Reagan will accept it and then turn and give it to Nancy Reagan.
What's so d*** funny, I wonder?
I heard that Michael is basically in charge of the private funeral.
I'm sure Wayne Newton will be there as well. He was also a close friend of the Reagans.

I'm inclined to agree with you!
As an aside, I was in the hospital this morning (home now) when the services started. I missed most of the service :( and am waiting for them to replay it later?? The worst part was trying to find a channel to watch! Tried Brokenjaw and couldn't take it, and said so, and changed the channel to the next one. Finally ended up with CBS. No FNC available there.
It just seems that they can't say anything nice without the follow up 'slam'
I think he was serious. (And I meant CNN's Bernard Shaw, not B. Goldberg, I misspoke.)
Airbus planes are "built" pretty much all over the world, mostly in the EU, but it is assembled in only one place: Toulousse, France.
I heard on Fox News today that the flag and the trumpet used in tonight's burial service is from the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan and will be presented to Mrs. Reagan for the library's collection.
To All....
I have finished the recording finally. I will continue tonight at 6:30pm EST or 5:30pm CST.
So far a total of 16 gig, whoa! That is a lot! But it is a very good quality!!! Approx 4-5 DVD's...
More tonight. I will spend the afternoon making a MASTER, that will be used to make the other copies.
Thanks to all that sent $$$ and or other offers of help. May God bless you!!!
I thought that too, that even the Heavens were crying today.
What a fine man we once had as President. He believed in us and believed in America.
Thank God we have President Bush. I don't think I could stand this day if we didn't.
I guess it's time to start Freeping Drudge to put that picture back up.
I don't know what the official protocol is, but they've been very vigilant about staying in the background. I bet they just didn't want the extra fuss, security, etc. that would have gone along with them being there. I'm sure they talked it over with Nancy . . .
I didn't see the Pres. or Laura tear up at the ceremony; bet there are tears on AF1 now! I'm glad they're going to Texas--they need and deserve a few days off.
Not trumpet...sorry, bugle.
I was just thinking about how the media uses their praise of Reagan to slam Bush. You'd never hear any of them say, for example, that Reagan respected the Oval Office so much that he'd always wear a coat and tie in there, whereas Clinton respected the Oval Office so little he got orally serviced by Monica in there!
