No live words. She stayed in the audience, seated next to former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. I read reports that she's so frail she can hardly speak. Her message was recorded in 2003, if I remember correctly. It was fantastic.

OH MY....those old hymns!!! How can the heart of America not hear all those words and the power in them and then want to kick God out of everything. I think Pres. Regan put all this together didn't he? He sure has my heart, we serve the same God, and know he moves worlds.

Mama, God took President Reagan when WE needed it most. People were beginning to lose hope in this country and our leadership. The only way to get the message out again was for the man who was the flamebearer of hope and love of America to be in the spotlight again. God knew what we needed mama. He knew what President Reagan needed.

Your son must do you proud! That is quite profound.

Ode to Joy? I'm a goner.
I'm gone with you. It's a celebration of Ronald Reagan-- as it should be.

hehe, we don't have to hear him; he's been deemed not worthy. Maybe that's why both Clintuni look drugged out of their minds.

History is littered with examples of people that have been thrust into unpredictable circumstances, Patton comes to mind as an example, Reagan certainly, GWB on 9/11. We cannot predict the events that will unfold before us. But, what differentiates these men as great leaders is that they had the moral fiber, principles and courage to meet the challenge they were presented. They have succeeded where most would have failed. The specific circumstances are by in large irrelevant..

Yes, it has been beautiful. If I live to be 100, the last verse of Amazing Grace will forever bring tears to my eyes.

Hillary has her Post-9/11 SOTU dour speech face on

At least it's not that face she was wearing at the late Paul Wellstone's memorial service. Sheesh!

When I heard Lady Thatcher's words, I was assured that goodness would overcome evil in this world. Tell your 17 year old son that when I read his words, I was again convinced that the best days of America are ahead of us.

This is a commentary thread, where people comment on what they see happening during a live event - in this case, this is a thread to comment upon what we are seeing occuring at the Reagan memorial service. Or, at least I thought it was. Now I'm not so sure since all the self-appointed Thread Police are out.

I look at it this way - while I don't care about the Clinton's antics at this event, others do, and I am free to ignore their comments if I want. I am also free to make comments about their comments and observations if I want (as long as I stay within forum posting guidelines).

If people don't like the idea of a free and open commentary and debate on a thread that has that specific purpose, too bad.

Now I'm done.
