The Gospel went out today - clearly, powerfully, and resoundingly. It will not return void. This is a transforming day for America. Even in death, this great man has given to us immeasurably. Thank you, Lord, for Ronald Wilson Reagan, for his example and his inspiration. Amen.

I hate how Nancy has cut him out of the picture. Really low even for her in her time of grief. The Funeral service he was sent to the back row, not even allowed to be with Ron Jr and Patti. Very sad!
He's in the front row, with them, right now.

Clinton: An illustration of the very reason that Ronald Reagan and the Bushes are so loved. The Reagans and Bushes are the polar opposites of the Clintons. It doesn't hurt to mention that truth on this thread about a great man's passing.

The choir sang it as originally written: As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free. Appropriate for Pres. Reagan.

I was very please they sang the original words also. Pres. Reagan was plain spoken and so is Pres. Bush. It was very appropriate. I almost cheered through my tears.

Agreed... We sang the original "died" version at my (PUBLIC!!!) high school graduation, and it is a beautiful song, especially when done in male/female harmony... we were a bunch of 18 year old kids and it came out impressively well, but this version was beautiful and put ours to shame.

It brought tears to my eyes as I watched the footage and listened.

I doubt that many here have not been praying about that speech...The answer was magnificent to hear.

I assume you're talking about W's remarks. And, yes, you're right. God is with him. May God continue to cover him, and guide him. I think the political challenges thrown at Pres. Bush have in many ways been more difficult than those faced by Pres. Reagan. And Pres. Bush doesn't have the natural gifts to deal with them as Reagan did. But Bush has been unwavering in his graciousness, strength and integrity. That is the Lord's blessing upon him.

Did they show his Frenchness?

They can't find him. I believe he fell off
the pew and is now out of sight.

I think I'll email my orchestra director and ask if he knows of where I can get a copy. It's the same arrangement we played for our July 4th services, so he should know... when I find it I'll share.
