Dutch Reagan: Fighter for Freedom
The great man
Has been laid low
But he still has our hearts
He defeated our foes
His humility
His grace
Brought honor
To the human race
'Fighter for freedom'
What better epitaph
Could any man desire
What more could he ask?

This was all planned by the Reagans years ago and Pres Reagan loved patriotic music. IMHO, some people on here need to stow it -- this was what President Reagan wanted and so be it! It was beautiful and touching but seems some people on here cannot quit snipping even for today!
>>The ceremony at the National Cathedral on Friday is called something like the National Funeral.
It's the National Memorial Service. And in California, it will be Internment Services.
Are you smitten.....with that liberal?
BUMPity bump bump to that!
There are three and they seem to be alike.
One from each branch of Government.
Legislative, Executive and Judical.
Executive is on the end.
I could swear they were only expecting 20,000 people at first.
That's 80,000 less than actually came. Wow.
They are saying 200,000 in D.C. If we replay that proportion of an incorrect number, we are looking at a million people....
last post typing with gloves on, sorry.
Oh he definitely was the conservative that Ron P. or Patti were and are NOT. And I think it's very noticeable and sad how separated he is from "Nancy and Ron's" children. And I believe it's by design .. it would have to be. There's been no contact that I've seen between him and Nancy or the other two. I think he's been the "outsider" to Nancy, and that she tolerated him when Reagan was alive.
I don't see that continuing . . but I could be wrong.
'sokay. It can be kind of confusing without the program in hand.
I always thought Jan was the hot one. Cindy was bow wow city.
What a Knucklehead to object to that pic .....
One wreath is from the House, one from the Senate, and one from the President! Protocol when a person lies in State in the Capitol Rotunda.
The flag is also drapped differently over the casket -- once again it is protocol.
That "intense pressure" to increase the number of speakers came from libs (Pelosi, Clinton) wanting to barge in. I heard O'Reilly say as of now there was no evidence that clinton had even said he was "angry and disappointed" at not being asked to speak. Clinton's CYA now, I suppose, w/the help of O'R.
It was by no means meant to disparage you or your source.
Thanks for clearing that up. My memory was a bit faulty, thinking it was the various cabinet depts.
It is so nice to see tradition in this country these days.
I don't think hole in one likes her cooking skills.....:-)
Roger that!
I thought it was Pro-tem Ted Stevens (R-AK) who made the first remarks at the service (not the prayer).
