Arrival at Andrews Air Force Base scheduled for 5 P.M. EDT.
Beginning of procession: 16th and Constitution at 6:00 P.M.
---------
The procession begins at 16 th Street and Constitution Avenue with the ceremonial transfer of remains of former President Ronald Reagan from a hearse to a horse-drawn caisson for the processional to the Capitol. The casket transfer will take place at 6 p.m. and caisson continues east with formal military escort.
The public will be able to pay final respects while the remains lie in state in the Capitol rotunda from 7:00 p.m. through Friday, June 11, 2004 at 9:30 a.m.
LOL ... OK then .
As far as I am aware, the parallels stop with the drunkard father. The Oval Office sink was still safe to drink out of after Reagan left office.
Now the real Reagan fans are coming in.
And the little ones!!
Ohh, we do so wish we could have been there!!!!
ROTFLMBO!
OUTSTANDING .. Thank you!
George and Barbara Bush on Larry King Live now!
LOTS of families--even small children in strollers
AND rejoicing.
Why would the ministers mention Jesus Christ when Ronald Reagan never mentioned him?
Agreed !
I was captivated by his speech. Most of all because I didn't expect it to be so filled with emotion, but with all those standing in silence . . . you could hear a pin drop . . . well, it was very moving. IMHO Cheney continues to earn his shot at the nomination. Reagan served 2 terms @ 70 through 78 years, and last a lasting legacy.
Think about this for a moment. Who would have thought way back in 1974 that in 2004 Richard Cheney would gather every member of the House and Senate, and all the chief justices, in the capitol rotunda, on live TV, use the phrase "Reagan Revolution".
Well, it just sends chills down my spine. I can't remember when I've been so proud to be a Conservative American.
Does anyone know if the DC FReepers are in line right now? If one of them has a phone, they should let us know when they are almost ready to go inside, so maybe someone can tape CSPAN to capture their moments inside with the Gipper...
right away, I am struck that there is alot more emotion coming from these people, at least these first ones in line, then the ones at the Library. I think the ceremony and the horse drawn casket must have gotten to them.
Get it through your head....this is not a funeral.
The funeral is Friday.
Does anyone know if C-span will run the D.C. procession again tonight. I was taking Hubby to the airport and missed seeing it.
Those people filing past the casket look like normal people. Young, old, rich, poor, Christians, non-Christians. In other words, AMERICANS. Party of the rich, indeed. What garbage!
that one guy, Kevin something, I think he posts as here as "trueblackman" - was calling into Mark Levin's show via cell phone.
ha ! I haven't seen that one in a while. I like it.I think I need to find a 'Trademark' image. Well, actually, I think I have.
I post this thing quite often on threads that I am shocked by:
Barbara Bush: What you read in the N.Y. Times is not always true.
She can't say that, can she?
