I wonder if F'n plans to use the video in one of his CAMPAIGN commercials?! I wouldn't put it past him.

Cut in line while the 'commoners' had to spend hours in lineThis is what makes me most angry. He knows nothing of those of us who must work for a living, who stand in lines, who aren't people of privilege or power. If he did, he would never, ever have pulled this stunt today.

The library just announced that 70,000 people have paid their respects! Thanks for that bit of worthwhile news. (I don't consider Kerry's grandstanding to be such.) When I went home for lunch today between 1:00-2:00pm, the people were still filing past at the same rate they have been all along. If it continues, the number of visitors will easily approach 100,000. Add that to all the people who lined the streets and freeway overpasses, plus all the people who briefly stopped their cars in respect as the motorcade passed, plus all the people who have sent emails, cards, etc., it looks like California is giving her favorite son a rousing send off.

If Kerry had done this privately...without cameras...as President Bush has done so many times when the meeting is sensitive (ie families who lost loved ones on 9/11), THEN, perhaps, one might have assumed he had a decent motive, a heart for Reagan, a genuine desire to stand close to Reagan's coffin.
But as it is....I feel as tho what kerry was thinking as he stood over that coffin was flat out sinister. Such is the methodology of someone who would use a President's death as a photo-op.

Per Britt Hume, Fox News, Nancy Pelosi is *itching about not being able to speak at President Reagan's Memorial!

"Someone should ask just who the heck was taking pics and any video. And specifically for whom." I find it horrid that these questions have to be asked. After all, this is a man's funeral.
While I will admit to being a cradle Republican, I have had to bury my own parents, both within the last 4 years. And I cannot tell you how my heart is breaking that this is happening at a very solemn event. I know that the other side doesn't take funerals seriously, I saw what they did at the Wellstone funeral. But I have a vague feeling how the Reagan family's hearts might be breaking, and this just disgusts me.
My prayers are with Nancy and Reagan children.

what celebs waited in line? Tom Seleck waited. (why has he not run for office?)
Who else has done the civil thing?

Nice in theory, but, in practice, it could actually make him (and them) more of a target, no??? A target of what? Political or physical attack?

What the hell can Nancy Pelosi contribute to the conversation? No one wants to hear their crap. Except dem. loyalistas. And they're not going to watch the Memorial Services anyway.

My post #643.
Bill Clinton, per Drudge, was whining that he wasn't invited to speak at the burial ceremony Friday.

LOL...you're probably right! I'd have LOVED to have been able to read the minds of the honor guards and military/ security detail at the library when Kerry showed up today.
Reckon there were many there thinking, "Man, I'd love to work for this guy..."

What's with the thumbs up?
"Hey Team Kerry! Good thing this didn't happen in October...Oh, Yeah!"

Exactly.
Isn't it interesting that within 30 minutes of Kerry's brief appearance, the AP had photos up on the web. Talk about photo-opting!
