Cuba: Reagan Should 'Never Have Been Born'

HAVANA - Cuba harshly criticized former President Ronald Reagan and his policies on Monday, saying he should "never have been born."

In the first reaction to Reagan's death from the communist government, Radio Reloj said:

"As forgetful and irresponsible as he was, he forgot to take his worst works to the grave," the government radio station said.

"He, who never should have been born, has died," the radio said.

The statement did not mention Cuba's relationship with the United States under Reagan, a staunch foe of communism.

It also did not mention Reagan's decision to order U.S. forces to invade the tiny Caribbean country of Grenada on Oct. 25, 1983, because Washington feared the island had grown too close to Cuba.

Since the early 1960s, Cuba and the United States have been without diplomatic relations, and Cuba has been under a U.S. trade embargo. But relations between the two countries were especially tense when Reagan was in office from 1981-1989.

Radio Reloj lambasted Reagan's military policies, especially the "Star Wars" anti-missile program. The initiative, launched when the Soviet Union still existed, rejected a long-standing doctrine built on the idea that neither superpower would start a nuclear war out of fear of annihilation by the other.

The radio also criticized Reagan's policies in Central America, where Washington backed a counterrevolutionary rebel army that fought against the leftist Sandinista government in Nicaragua. The United States also supported a conservative government that battled Marxist guerrillas during El Salvador (news - web sites)'s civil war.

"His apologists characterize him as the victor of the Cold War," the radio said. "Those in the know knew that the reality was not so, but rather (he was) the destroyer of policies of detente in the overall quest for peace."

The media is having a jolly old time chasing down these tyrants of the past to get their views on Reagan. With so much outpouring of goodwill, it's important for the media to dredge up the Castros and Ortegas of the world so they can present the other side...as if it's a revelation that the communist despots of the world would have any love for the man that assigned them to the trash-bin of history. For every Ortega...and in fact liberal, that trashes Reagan for his work in Nicaragua and El-Salvador, there is an elected, democratic leader in those countries who has nothing put praise.

Didn't John Kerry just put out his plan for Cuba? To be more friendly to them? Hmmm....

Also, I think we need to look into Oliver North's comments on Foxnews. That John Kerry wanted to impeach President Reagan. I am too young to remember, is this the case? If so, we need to bring this out!

Know ye a man by his ememies. Reagan had the "best enemies," as does GWB.

I just heard this on Rush. Did we expect anything more humane from the beast of the Caribbean?

Coincidently, I recently had a conversation with a young Cuban refugee woman who has just arrived in the US from Cuba in a roundabout way. She absolutely fumed about the Europeans and Canadians and leftie Americans who go down there and hang out at the Castro run hotels while people are being tortured and killed and starved to embellish the socialist ego of Fidel.

I went to Radio Reloj website, and then clicked on the audio link, next to the banner of Cuban spies jailed in the US.

After listening to the live stream audio, all I can say is that Radio Reloj reminds me of Radio Tirane-Albania, when Albania used to be a communist country.

The propaganda is so outrageous that turns into comedy.

All the Radio Reloj good news [fabrications] is about demonstrations of solidarity by the numerous Castro's friends in the world and the great economic news inside the island. The bad news is about the "Yankee imperialism" being defeated by the patriotic resistence in Iraq and Afghanistan. The radio announcer just read a bulletin about the US losing 9 soldiers in Iraq, even though the US has only admitted to the death of 2 soldiers in the last 24 hours.

Oh, boy. It's like CNN would have been without competition from FoxNews.

The leftists dread Castro's death, because a few years later Cuba will no longer be a backward 3rd world country. Capitalism will convert that hellhole into a thriving nation and serve to illustrate the backrupcy of leftist economics. Of course the Leftys will never admit their mistakes.

oh, Fidel, won't you ever just die?

How many World Leaders are going to President Reagan's funeral. I wonder how many will be at Fidel's funeral when that scumbag finally dies? (Marxist DUmmies aside).

you mean "folks with full bladders aside"

the Dummies won't be there. the DUmmies will be so striken by their loss of Papa Fidel that they's all come down with explosive dysentery as an emotional outlet and be forced to remain at home.

REAGAN1 =

CASTRO1's own worst nightmare.

REAGAN1 beat the 20th Century's Evil Empire during the Cold War.

BUSH2 is beating the 21st Century's Axis of Evil during a War on Terrorism.

Up there in Heaven, Reagan is reading this diatribe from the state-controlled Cuban media and, with a smile on his face and shaking his head, has only this to say: "Well, there they go again!"

"and He even allows scum to slither among us in order to give us examples of what not to be like. Unlike the venomous ones, who He has no expectations of,"

Needless to say, Castro is definetely among those 'venemous ones' and 'scum'.

Rush Limbaugh was talking about this story. He mentioned the AP calling
Cuba's remark 'harsh criticism' of Reagan.
