How anyone could vote for Patty "Osama Mama" Murray is beyond me. Claim in public that Osama is loved around the world for building day care centers and you should not get re-elected for God's sake.

Like California, Washington has been lost to the relentless infusion of socio-politically naive whack-jobs (mostly from California). There it is.

Actually I am surprised that Bush is even getting 44%. WA will never be in play. To bad it is such a beautiful place, otherwise I would say we should let the Canadians have it.

I lived in Seattle shortly before the y2k election.

Gore signs were everywhere. However, drive a half an hour out of the city and you couldn't find anything other then a Bush sign...

Because they average voter has the attention span of a flea and they have already forgotten about it and unfortunately Republicans play nice instead of playing to win so I highly doubt Nethercutt will do or say anything to remind them.

And that's the truth. She gets elected for the same reason Jim McDermott does. It's Seattle.

Looks like another term for that bastion of intellect, Patty Murray.

How a nitwit like her is a permanent fixture in the Senate will tell you all you want to know about any election results from Washington state. For all sensible people from Washington, I feel your pain. I'm from MA and you can just imagine how I feel about my elected officials, none of whom I have voted for.

Yes, Seattle and King County. That's why we have Jim McDermit or McDimWit as senator for this state. McDermit you remember went to Iraq before the start of IraqiFreedom and praised Saddam. Also received 5K in cash plus trip and expenses to publish his comments prior to the invasion.

Kennewick,Richland - the former site of Hanford Nuclear Reactor and now defunct WPPSS, 5 proposed nuclear power sites - is also a government=leftist controlled population.

This state is firmly linked to the socialist adgenda and needs a serious awakening of conservatives outside the Seattle area.

The conservative populaton is too damn conservative! They won't stand up and demand to be heard in the state assembly nor at the voting booth. The majority of the population of Soviet Russia also passively submitted to the rule of Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev... because they would be killed if they resisted. This is AMERICA! Where is the soul in the residents of this state, where is the committment to liberty, principles? Who will fight for you if you will not fight for what you, yourself, believe ?

Amen brother. But at least we don't have a state income tax. If the libs go after that, the revolution begins.

Interesting that the Prez is still competitive in this state. And I firmly believe that Nethercutt has a chance. Already, Murray is under 50%. But we'll see.

The question is why? Why did a place where frontiersmen, miners, trappers, lumbermen settle end up such a looney place?

Let me see if I can help from some personal observations. When Washington was a frontier zone men and women of incredible character lived there (some still do -we call them Conservatives), because they did what it took in natural resource development. Opportunity was great, and they flourished.

Unfortunately, with every great activity, some losers show up. Instead of the region getting rid of the losers, they were rescued by "expanding government". Pretty soon, the losers, now on the government teet, followed the marching orders of other losers already in government.

They (the losers) scored their first big victory with the spotted owl. It was the beginning of the death of logic in WA to develop natural resources. So now you have a state where opportunity is robbed from anyone who wants to do any natural resource development - The forests have gone to hell with no management, greenies are busy getting the farmer off the land to save it, and whatever others lies they can spin, and they hate the fact that oil from the North Slope of Alaska is refined at Cherry Point, but given enough influence they'll stop that eventually too. When the losers get the state to that point - they'll be starving in the Garden of Eden.

The populace in the cities need to be re-educated and have a wake up call. There is an election coming, so you, on your own need to go out and slowly (but before election day) work on getting people re-educated and Hannitized they'll be in shock as to accepting the reality, then mad as hell that the left duped them, and they too will spread the word. Get them registered as republicans. Bounce out slickmeisters like Brian Baird, and install people like Dawn Courtney.I could go on all morning, but will stop for now.
