Breaking News on Fox
I corrected myself in post 671. You would know that if you were reading the thread.
Deputy CIA Director John E. McLaughlin testifies before the federal panel reviewing the Sept. 11 attacks in Washington in this March 24, 2004 file photo. President Bush said Thursday, June 3, 2004 that CIA Director George Tenet has resigned 'for personal reasons' and that McLaughlin will temporarily lead America's premier spy agency until a successor is found. President Clinton meets reporters in the Green Room of the White House in this March 19, 1997 file photo, to announce he will officially nominate acting CIA Director George Tenet, rear, to head the spy agency. Tenet's wife Stephanie and son John Michael look on. President Bush said Thursday, June 3, 2004 that CIA director George Tenet has resigned 'for personal reasons' and that his deputy will temporarily lead America's premier spy agency until a successor is found. is Rush saying anything about why he couldn't have waited for 150 days until after the election to do this?
I was just kidding with you. I'll add "sarcasm off" next time just to be clear. But you did make a little boo-boo. For that you must look at this photo of the worlds biggest DORK.
Well, I will look forward to Tenet addressing the Nation. It could really be as simple as he has had to live in the fast lane for too long, that he wants to go fishing and spend time with his son and Bride.
I for one will refuse to be sucked into the trap of giving any weight to anything that the Traitors of this Country (dim's, lib's Kerry, Kennedy, Dasshole, Pilgoatseeeee and the media) put out about all of this. THEY are doing their best to break us up, create doubt and have us fighting amounts ourselves.......to hell with them!!
My faith in President Bush is unshakable. I would vote for him even if I was going to be the only vote.
It's a given that the "leftist media" will use clubs against Bush, no matter what the incident. Their agenda and their inability to recognize truths are evident all the time. We should pity THEIR incompetence and refuse to take their prattling seriously.
dittos
LOL. "The late Senator Warner" ? John Warner may look like he is dead at times but he is still very much alive. Teresa Heinz-Kerry was married to the late John Heinz, republican senator from PA
Or perhaps President Bush is going to do the suing? The first thing everyone assumes when hearing someone has hired an attorney is that it is a defensive position; however, it could be quite the opposite.
One angle someone mentioned to me was that as Wilson, Clark wrote books they may have opened themselves up for a few court hours (after President Bush finishes his second term, of course!)
Now you've done it. I won't be able to sleep tonight after seeing that hideous creature.
No, if he is doing this because of a CIA scandal and Bush was aware of it long ago and did nothing, then the proper thing would have been for Bush to fire Tenet at the time-- not wait for Tenet to resign for personal reasons. I don't think this is the case, but if it were, I'd agree with Andrea.
Correct. I just want you to know that I take the man at his word. But, then, I'm not in front of a camera 24/7, putting out spin on this. Tenet could diffuse this a bit by being more specific. Not for my satisfaction, but in order to take some heat off of Bush. I don't the media's "prattling" seriously.
The FIRST time I corrected your post, you posted another affirmation of your "facts". I WAS reading the thread and posted another answer to your 2nd post. When I refresed, I saw your correction then. Don't get snippy about it.
Thanks for the ping guys. You bet! :^D
Whats up with this? Is this the sooner rather than later? Okay I will read
some of the thread, but will not even try to start from the very beginning.I posted the AP version of the story on #255 on this same thread, fyi .....
Gee... maybe he resigned for ... ... personal reasons. The President has asked him to stay on now for over a year longer than he intended. He's been CIA director for seven years. Only one man has been in that position for longer. Only two others have been there as long as six years. Certainly, given that there have been 18 D/CIA since 1946, (See post#235) he wouldn't have expected such a long tenure, and one lasting UNPRECIDENTEDLY long into the next administration.
Yeah - Personal and financial reasons - and time for a rest from the pressure cooker qualifies as personal.
I thank him for his service, and loyalty in a very difficult and predictably thankless job and position given the times we're in.
Hello! I anybody home at your address?
.
amounts ourselves = amongst ourselves
I hate it when I do that!! LOL
I just wonder why today and why Bush looked so surprised. Why didn't Tenet wait until after Bush had made his news regarding his trip? Why didn't he wait until Bush and Tenet could have a joint mutual appreciation society press conference?
Yes. There is only so much one man can take, and Tenet has reached his limit.
Bush has stood by Tenet throughout a very difficult time, but the DCI is still a mortal man, and his burdens are many.
Bush says he's sorry to see Tenet go, and I believe him.
We can speculate about what the straw was that broke the camel's back, but the truth is that they all did. He just doesn't want the job anymore.
Tenet has decided to throw in the towel, and frankly, I think that's about all there is to this.
He called for the investigation.
