Democratic Senator - and certain presidential nominee - John F. Kerry gave the middle finger to a Vietnam veteran at the Vietnam Memorial Wall on Memorial Day morning, NewsMax.com has learned.
Ted Sampley, a former Green Beret who served two full tours in Vietnam, spotted Kerry and his Secret Service detail at about 9:00 AM Monday morning at the Wall. Sampley walked up to Kerry, extended his hand and said, "Senator, I am Ted Sampley, the head of Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry, and I am here to escort you away from the Wall because you do not belong here."
At that point a Secret Service officer told Sampley to back away from Kerry. Sampley moved about six feet away and opened his jacket to reveal a HANOI JOHN tee-shirt.
Kerry then began talking to a group of school children. Sampley then showed the tee-shirt to the children and said, "Kerry does not belong at the Wall because he betrayed the brave soldiers who fought in Vietnam."
Just then Kerry - in front of the school children, other visitors and Secret Service agents - brazenly 'flashed the bird' at Sampley and then yelled out to everyone, "Sampley is a felon!"
Kerry was referring to an incident 12 years ago when Sampley confronted Senator John McCain's cheif aide, Mark Salter, in a Senate stairwell after McCain repeatedly offended POW families at a Senate POW hearing. Sampley, whose father-in-law at that time was MIA in Laos, followed Salter into the stairwell and, when they emerged, Salter had a bloody lip and a broken nose.
Sampley's group, Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry, has garnered huge national attention and been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post and on MSNBC's Scarborough Country. Tens of thousands of Vietnam vets have registered their opposition to Kerry through Sampley's group.
Clearly Sampley has gotten under Kerry's skin once again.
And I can guess that I won't see this footage on the top of the hour news recap?

Kerry Heckled at Memorial Day Event
Excerpt:Sen. John Kerry's record as an anti-war protester came back to haunt him on Memorial Day when he was confronted by a heckler as he tried to pay his respects to a soldier killed in the Vietnam War.
"How much money are you getting to betray our POWs?" an unidentified middle-aged woman shouted as Kerry visited the Vietnam Veterans memorial on the Washington Mall.
"Are you paying tribute to all the people you spat on, Senator Kerry?" she added.
< /snip>
The heckling episode served to underscore the resentment many veterans still feel towards Kerry from his days as a leader with the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, when he teamed up with anti-American actress Jane Fonda.
Thank you donozark for your comments. Sometimes things are carried just a wee bit too far.
Amazing what Botox can do for a John!
Thanks, I will read later today.
Very shallow and certainly lacking in judgement. Untrustworthy. Willing to seek an ounce of revenge in front of little ones--geeeez.
(And since his current wife demanded a pre-nup, apparently she does not trust him either.)
Blaming falls on body guards, losing temper and cursing at them in public, flipping the bird off with children present when confronted with the opposition, my, my, very whimpy.
Thank you Ted, for a yet another sick glimpse of this oily coiffed egomaniac. And thank you for getting up close and personal with the enemy within.
Why wasn't there a plan ahead of time to get this on tape??
We need better organization!!
While I believe that Kerry is fully capable of the behavior described, I do not believe this article is true. My reason; if the Secret Service agents let Sampley get that close, they should all be fired. No way is anyone going to "get in his face". The heckler is another story.
And here is another. While Newmaxs is trying to blame other media outlets for the following. I found that they were the only ones to run with the following last week. I think that they are beneath scum for attempting to get this started while our troops are in harms way. I personnally do not want to read anything by Newsmax. This really tipped the scale.
Media's Mission Accomplished: U.S. Troops Now Called 'Baby Killers'
Look....I just tend to believe that a man flipping a guy off in front of many schoolchildren and cameras would be caught by somebody.
If you actually believe that nobody else would have seen this.....come on.

Borrowed the link at #60, I think:
LOL! "I'm too sexy for my hair!"
If the only people with cameras running were journalists then chances are that those pictures did not survive. Kerry's falls are never preserved in pictures for posterity. That does not mean that the event occurred, just that there is little likelihood that there will be pictures available if it did happen.
I can't find a thing wrong with that story. What the media was doing with the prisoner abuse story should be looked at. Admittedly, the NM story was not in depth, and the mere mention of the baby-killing slur will inflame or mislead some cursory readers already so-disposed. But the article's title makes clear where NM is coming from.
In general I don't go as far as you about NM. But I've seen enough loose ends to read them scrutinously. OTOH, they've broken many stories by being willing to be the first to go to print. I think they are a valuable service which could be a lot more valuable.
