U.S. athletes told to cool it at Olympics

By Simon Hart LONDON SUNDAY TELEGRAPH

NEW YORK — American athletes have been warned not to wave the U.S. flag during their medal celebrations at this summer's Olympic Games in Athens, for fear of provoking crowd hostility and harming the country's already-battered public image. The spectacle of victorious athletes grabbing a national flag and parading it around the stadium is a familiar part of international sporting competition, but U.S. Olympic officials have ordered their 550-strong team to exercise restraint and avoid any jingoistic behavior.

The plan is part of a charm offensive aimed at repairing the country's international reputation after the deepening crisis in Iraq and damaging revelations of the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. forces at the Abu Ghraib prison.

The left here and world-wide has done this to Israel for decades. Their media in NY, and all over the globe use propaganda everyday.

They use the Islamic cults as a political tool, and blame the US and Israel for "aggression".

It is a proxy war, by the EU and the leftists for power, and the defeat of American power.

If Kerry/UN/Soros ticket wins, so do the Islamic cults.

Hi Simon- by JINGO!

Hi Simon- by JINGO!

by Marilyn Jones: October 21

As did the word "gravitas" during the last presidential election, the word "jingoism" is currently
coming into its own.

I suspect that most of us are a little fuzzy on the definition of the term and more fuzzy on its derivation so without getting into politics, here's the skinny,

"We don't want to fight: but if we do, by Jingo,
We've got the ships, we've got the men,
and got the money, too!"

The advice is not complete. The athletes should not win any medals because the sound of Star Spangled Banner will offend the sensitive ears /sarcasm off

Here's what Texas has to say about the USOC flag phobia: Pictures of Operation Enduring Support, May 15, Flagpole Hill, Dallas Texas.

Seeing as how we have to be so careful not to offend the rest of the world I propose a permanent solution to this problem.

If we neutron bomb the rest of the world (excepting Israel, New zealand, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland and maybe Canada) then we won't have to worry about offending them anymore.

Of course we have to start with mecca, medina, and the capitals of all islamic countries and then work outward from there.

Amen to that, can you imagine if both parties were united in the war on terror.

I can imagine it well. I am old enough to remember how it was durinng WWII, and look what we did then! We had virtually nothing to fight a war at the start, much less a world war (on two fronts), but look what happened within five years.

Something else, we are told we can't stand to look at pictures of death.

I tell all who will listen, find some issues of Life Magazine from that era, if you can. Look at the miriad of pictures of dead American boys on the beaches, in fields, on ships.

That alone helped galvanized this nation against our enemies! Which is exactly why we aren't allowed to see horrible pictures today --- we might unite!

If John F'ing Kerry and the rest of the democRATS have their way, we will become the "Un-united States of Amerika."

We're well on our way to that right now.

We should just stop having the olympics. We could have our own games-support our own people and stop wasting money on the anti-American olympics. They don't want our flag and are telling us not to be jingoistic? Let's take our money and go home. The Olympic whiners have been begging Washington for money for security. I don't recall any country giving us money when we hosted the olympics.

every AMERCIAN - to stand against this evil and shout: "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND!" And I pray for the FATHER, to bind His covenant blessings upon every American who calls themselves a Christian and for Him to loose all these curses and spirits of fear, control, confusion, politics, and deaf & dumb from His people

UMMM...And we AMERICANS who are NOT Christians?

Being American is now officially an international crime.

Eventually, the world will try to apprehend us for this horrible attrocity.

I have quite a few that aren't Christians in my family. Some being Jewish, some being atheist Jews (practice High Holy Holidays for tradition only), some calling themselves Christians, but not acting like it.

To them I say speak: "Only the thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest."

As a man believes in his heart - that he is!

Compare the American Olympic celebrations in these pictures. The left picture is obviously unacceptable and "jingoistic" whereas the one on the right is an acceptable use of the Olympics for political purposes.

Talk amongst yourselves...

If I were an American Olympic athelete, I'd not only wave the American flag, I'd burn the French and UN flags.
