Some of the people involved in the 9-11 attack shared an apartment in La Mesa, CA. It was just a few miles from my house in Mira Mesa, CA. It is fairly common for these guys to share an apartment, then vanish without a trace.
Another form of "lodging" for these guys is to live inside a mosque and commute to work for a while until it is time to act. They have no permanent address or phone number. No vehicle. As untraceable as possible.
Too bad you didn't sense something wrong sooner and pass it to DHS. It sounds like the guys under "house arrest" are planning to flee to execute their assignment.
He doesn't have a car. None of them do. And they don't have a house phone. They have global cellulars that allow them to talk all over the world...
I don't know if I believe he is under house arrest.
My imagination has taken hold of me and I can't help thinking that working at a cell phone kiosk at the Mall of America is way too perfect of a place to hang out and conduct operations.
The cell phone part really bothers me. Isn't that how the Madrid and N. Korean bombings were executed?
And aren't the terrorists savvy at constantly changing their cell phones? How perfect to have an insider handle it.
Another biggie are transient hotels in bad parts of town even the police hesitate to go to!
