They sure match the profile of the types of people we saw in the San Diego area prior to the 9-11 event. If they are using Iridium satellite phones, they are globally usable. Iridium phones can be coarsely located using the Iridium doppler methods. It's not good enough for door to door navigation, but you can locate the phone within a city block. If your daughter has their phone number, there is a way to find the phone. The phone number will also track down the source of financing tht put the phones in service.

That's why bus service (local or Greyhound type) are prime areas for surveillance of these people. Also, rental car/truck agencies. These people are not walking across the country - we must seize the oppotunity to stop them now.
