it sounds flat, but sometimes it works if you take that holiday to celebrate the person you lost, instead of mourning the loss itself. I lost someone on a holiday, and when that holiday comes around I thank God for the pleasure of knowing them, and the honor of having them grace my life. I hope this helps... or at least you feel that hug up there.

Have you noticed the "Are you Prepared for Bio Terror Threats" billboards popping up in the Valley? I first saw them in English, saw one in Spanish the other day. Creepy.

I understand. My husband's mother, father, brother and uncle all died 2-4 days before Thanksgiving each 2 years apart. Every Thanksgiving we wait for the dreaded shoe to drop.
I can well identify with that, in a way.
My own birthday, as well as Christmas have, for some reason almost always been fraught with pain and at least serious disappointment.
So much so, that when married, I tried to just mostly ignore my own birthday except on it to buy my wife something special. It truly was more blessed, to me, to give, than receive.
Anyway--if you ever need a soul to commiserate with on a holiday, give me a ping!
