As an American [applied for citizenship here from Iran since 1999], and a Muslim i would like to strongly condemn the brutal beheading of a fellow American in the hands of Barbarians.
I also, condemn Islamic terrorism across the world and join millions of others in Iran and i'm sure other places across the middle east in condemning these horrible acts.
I moved here in 2000, i was a part of the student uprisings in 1999 in Iran. The very thing that the US is fighting right now in the middle east, are what students in Iran are fighting.
There is no difference between their fight and ours, nor the fight across the middle east between the modernized - moderate form of islam and the radical form.
Unfortunately, moderates have been unwilling to take arms or act aggressively against radical islam and when we have we've been condemned for human rights abuses.
That's all.. after reading some of the posts on here i just wanted to say i'm Muslim and i condemn these acts.

When Christians start flying planes into buildings as part of a war mandated by Jesus give me a call. When Christians start sawing off the heads of innocents while chanting the Lord's prayer give me a call.
Kindly review the Thirty Years' War. Once you think you're God's special drinking buddy, it starts getting easy to rationalize away doing as you describe...
"Tell someone to choose between God and you...and he might choose God." (is allah God?)
"Allah" is Arabic for "God." They believe that they pray to the God of Abraham and Moses.
If called to decide to war for allah against America, the country where he lives and where his children were born, he said he would follow allah's call.
And if the American government decides to go to war against Christians, I'm not going to be a flag-waving ninny.
take it for what it is or make more silly non-parallel comments about, what did you call it..."a frightening plausible prospect"...of a war between Christians and America.
I have news for you: it's increasingly plausible, thanks to liberal extremism that tries to redefine marriage, redefine Scripture as "hate speech," et cetera, and so on, and so forth, and the elites' "America" may just decide to pursue an Endlosung re: Christians. We keep being so...obstinate...about right and wrong.

That the Mad Mullahs of Iran are an Arab-aligned I think you're very right --- the mullahs were sending naive 14-15 year old boys into that war to go up against the Iraqis who just plowed them down. The mullahs knew that would be their fate --- just cannon fodder but little kids.

Far better that Cyrus go back to Zoroastrianism. Which is the Persian way and was a great faith until the Islamokazis invaded/decimated Persia. Yes and the whole reason that Persians are more likeable and a far more reasonable people than are the Arabs is that the Persians have left-over influences of their own religion Zoroasterism ---- it isn't Islam for sure and the high points in Persia's culture were before Islam --- Iran needs to be freed.

Some of those who fought for the freedom of Texas were Mexican. I thought they were Texans. The people of Texas could be of Spanish, English or other ancestry when Spain governed the territory. Even today there are people you find in New Mexico and Texas that get called "mexican" who really don't appreciate it --- just having a Spanish last name doesn't make you a Mexican.

I do not wish to insult you but you should leave Islam. If he tries to do that he faces the muslim death penalty. No one can leave --- no one can make a choice like that.

Cyrus, thanks for your statement of condemnation of terrorism. I have friends from Iran, and I pray for the nation. As an aside, you must have very thick skin given the general tone of comments related to Islam...although in truth most of the venom is actually directed at the violent segments within Islam. Peace.

"Allah" is Arabic for "God." They believe that they pray to the God of Abraham and Moses. Incorrect, Allah was the "name or title of a pagan Arabian deity worshipped in Mecca before Muhammad. Muhammad's pagan father, who died before Muhammad was born, already bore the name Abd Allah slave of Allah, and his uncle was called Obeid Allah." www.answering-islam.org Just to be clear, not a snipe at you.

I really needed that not to lose faith in an entire people. It is important, isn't it? And the thing that makes us great, as Americans, is the spirit at large in your question, and that is 'I don't want to lose faith in an entire people', because we're anything but an entire people ourselves.
God bless you, and thanks for your sacrifice to our Country.

Cyrus, thanks, and as BlueAngel said, let us hear from you often. I just want to close by saying Iranians are some of the most physically beautiful people on the face of God's fair earth.
Take care, and remember, as you have represented yourself, most of us consider you part of the American Family. Good luck, take care and may God intervene in Iran (and Iraq) to bring about a swift resolution to the conflicts in each.

On another thread a poster suggested that we kill ALL Muslims, including Americans. I hope you don't agree with that sentiment. Of course not. Only a buffoon would seriously consider such a thing. islam, in it's current state is the enemy, not the people that practice it.
I would go so far as to say kill everyone who raises a hand in anger against the West, in general, and the US specifically. I would also say that any imam or ilsamist that promotes violence against the West, and the US specifically, becomes fair game, as well. Kill enough of the radicals and those that truely want islam to change (if there are any) can be heard.
Make no mistake about it. The US and Western civilization is in a battle to the death with islam. It ends one of three ways. The West loses and the world is plunged into another dark ages. The islamists lose to the "moderate" moslems, and islam is reformed into a true religion that can peacefully co-exist with other reilgions. Lastly, islam fails to reform, and the West is forced, out of neccesity, to eradicate islam as an ideology.

I agree completely with your post. We MUST win this war with these mad dog extremists who hate us and would commit such horrendous deeds as the one committed against the young Mr. Berg.
But this resolve must be tempered with rational thought as you have expressed in your post. I certainly don't want to see atrocities committed against innocent American Muslims like Cyrus, or several physicians I know who are lovely people dedicated to service.
