As an American [applied for citizenship here from Iran since 1999], and a Muslim i would like to strongly condemn the brutal beheading of a fellow American in the hands of Barbarians.
I also, condemn Islamic terrorism across the world and join millions of others in Iran and i'm sure other places across the middle east in condemning these horrible acts.
I moved here in 2000, i was a part of the student uprisings in 1999 in Iran. The very thing that the US is fighting right now in the middle east, are what students in Iran are fighting.
There is no difference between their fight and ours, nor the fight across the middle east between the modernized - moderate form of islam and the radical form.
Unfortunately, moderates have been unwilling to take arms or act aggressively against radical islam and when we have we've been condemned for human rights abuses.
That's all.. after reading some of the posts on here i just wanted to say i'm Muslim and i condemn these acts.

Yes, you pray to allah but everything you know of allah comes to you through Mohammed and Mohammed is your example of how to put Islam into practice.
Mohammeds evil depravity is well documented historical record. Islam cannot change while it reveres Mohammed as the greatest prophet. Islam and Mohammed cannot be separated.
I do not wish to insult you but you should leave Islam.

A lot of our troops coming back through Ft. Lewis talk about how much they liked many of the Iraqis. I guess they just don't know what they're talking about.

There are a few but none have shown the honor and courage this guy does here. Usually they pushtheir own national agenda andstay far away from any discussion of what their religion has become.

That Dualism is the essence of the Z struggle and is not related to the Christian notion of struggle.

Not trying to turn this into an ideological argument. In fact, after this post I won't split hairs. Muhammad was born in 570 or '71. It's generally agreed by clerics that he started preaching Islam when he was 40, so that only makes you off by a decade.

Good point. Thanks.
Thank you for posting this. Unfortunately, there are many on this board who are ready to condemn ALL Muslims. I hope you can get others to speak out. It's important for Americans to know that Muslims of your caliber are good here and are good Americans.

"Words and rhetoric are cheap - speak by your actions."Um...I would consider Farsi language television beamed out of the United States by Iranian Americans to be an action and part of a plan.

Actually . . . IIRC, the Moslem Thugs worshipped Kali, a Hindu diety.
I know. It doesn't make sense.

Barring some way to receive satelite TV signals, obviously it won't come via the government controlled system, it would serve no purpose.

Not all Christian or Jewish communities assimilate in America (and this can be true of families that have been here for generations). Think Orthedox or Amish. They do it for religious reasons as well.
The question may be raised at times though if you are going to immigrate to the US, why come here if not to actually become a part of American society (assimilate)?
(that was a rhetorical question, I don't want a response/lengthy discussion).
I will also say that while I use the term "IslamoNazis" now (in response to the brutallity of radical Muslims) I do not see all muslims as IslamoNazis/Islamofascists. IslamoNazis think that they are followers of Islam. They can also be found in many different nations.
I would like to see a reformation movement within Islam to eridicate Islamofascism. Muslims may be less resistant to change if they realize that fellow muslims also oppose the excesses of radical muslims.
I think that with this change needs to come true religious freedom in muslim nations (freedom to openly practice other faiths whether they be Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddist, wiccan, etc. and freedom to convert to another faith).
A distinction under the law for Mulsims, Christians, Jews, and other faiths must also be eradicated.
I do not believe that it will take killing ever last IslamoNazi to achieve this situtation. In World War II, the Aryan Nazis and the Shinto Japanese pledged to fight to the last man. It did not take that and there is no threat to the rest of the world today. Foreigners can safely travel to those nations even though some fringe brutes may take out vigilante action. The government does not aid or abet those who carry out such action; like this prison abuse "scandal", it is policed and the criminals are brought to justice. The prison scandal was already being investigated by the military when the story broke.
If you are offended by my use of the word "Nazi" combined with Islam (as in IslamoNazis) I am sorry but I explained my usage above. There were too many invocations of Allah and muslims in the 5 minute speech on the Nick Berg video for me not to label these terrorists as warriors in a holy war. As I've said above, I don't see all muslims as being on their side but the IslamoNazis believe themselves to be muslims. The sooner the world eradicates Islamofascism, the sooner we can put such terms behind us.

Thank you Cyrus. I appreciate your sentiments.
I wish more Muslims would rise up against the militants, but I appreciate your courage in speaking up.

What's going on here? Self flaggelation?
Very interesting profile page. I'm amazed at the before/after comparisons of how far Iranian lifestyle and freedoms have fallen under the Mullahs.
Welcome to America!

cake_crumb was correct. Islam came along slightly later around 613AD when Mohammed first began preaching and took another 10 years or so (622/3AD) to really get going when he started killing everyone who did not agree with him.

Excellent post and nice homepage.
The Iranians seem to be much more prepared and capable of having a free country than the Iraqis.
Questions: 1) What is your suggestion for the governments in the Mideast and how they can counter the radical Islamic movements that seem to be the rule rather than the exception?
2) What is your suggestion for the religious hierarchy in the Mideast and how they can counter the radicalized Islamics that are corrupting Islam?

I'm "Me too, but that doesn't work well when talking to a lot of people, when you take into account South America and a lot of Europe (the non-English speaking parts) even when trying that with Brits I found myself facing a blank stare and having to clarify...somehow. Get's irritating.

Well you're certainly entitled to your feelings. Sometimes I feel the same as you do, so I know where you're coming from.
I believe a lot of people felt the same about the Japanese (and the Germans) in WWII. And a lot of people felt the same about the American Indians from the 1600's to the 1900's. And all the religious wars in Europe certainly brought out the strongest feelings. Most all those hard feelings have now blown over, and we live in peace with all those groups. I hope that one day (maybe soon, or maybe in hundreds of years) we'll also feel the same about the Muslim world.
