Didn't Hackworth run a prostitution ring while he served in Vietnam??

More likely that's Richard Armitage. Google for "Armitage" "O'Rourke" (the owner of the strip club) and "Ross Perot" as this came up in 1984 investigation under Reagan.

I dd not condone a coverup, which never happened. This report was first announced by CENTCOM in January. They announced it in a press conference. Everyone involved in this has already been investigated, and charges are being announced now.

There is nothing new in the CBS report except the pictures. The pictures are being released in order to undermone the admonistration and stir up the Islamacists. If you can't see that, there is nothing I can say to convince you.

Contrary to your partisan opinion, this information puts no one any more in harm's way than they already were.

So,Sadr preaching to his followers to do stuff like keep female prisoners as slaves (with his permission), because of the prisoner treatment (only verifiable to him because of the pictures being broadcast all over the world), isn't harmful to our kids?

What planet are you on???

Besides, the information was classified during an ongoing investigation.

Sounds like you think the public "right to know", should allow all documents and pictures of all ongoing investigations, be publicized all over the world, so no one can ever get convicted (in our society).

Got squat? That's all he's entitled to. He doesn't get to be on the judges panel. What he means in saying he got nowhere means to me that nobody was excusing his rotten nephew's behavior.

You were the braintrust who said that Lawson should have been trying to resolve the matter.

William Lawson is the driving force in getting the case made public, as opposed to getting the case resolved for his nephew. I want to know more about him.

I hear you buddy. I have been saying that on every thread. Did you see what Kerry's doing now? He's using the prisoner abuse scandal to raise money. I hate to say it, but if there are enough Americans willing to support that unAmerican Pr*ck, we're not the Country I thought we were.

not the taking of photos and the release of them.

I'm trying to understand who you think took the photos?

The way you're talking, it sounds like you think it was a 3rd party apparently invisible and unattached to the activities.

If not that Congresssman, then some type of legal professional.

Did you just hear Graner's lawyer say that some of the military individuals that are in the picture that was released yesterday with the three naked Iragis entertwined are MIs.

I want to know more about him.

I did find out more about him and his nephew. Found out enough to realize that the nephew was probably dirty and that the uncle was trying to muscle an acquittal for him.

"obey the Geneva Convention"

Are you a participant in the "Model U.N." or something? This is real life.

The soldiers involved were detained, the Commander had been relieved , the pictures were released because it was a big sensational "get" for CBS. I think it endangers our mission and our soldiers. Let's leave out political motive to CBS,just indifference to the result. I think that is damning, too.

A picture is worth a thousand words. The England girl playing fun and games with her former corrections officer wife beating boyfriend was a paper pusher, not on duty , "jes visitin'" dunce. What incredible stupidity and lack of discipline! Their own created porno movie.

That corrections officer knew the rules,he knew that "just following orders" doesn't work. MI may have conspired in encouraging this and needs close investigation. It is all very painful. Seems no one was really in charge.

The pictures of rape or brutality Rumsfield described leave me wondering why all the camera work? It isn't the usual prison guard who wants his misdeeds captured to be viewed by anyone who has a copy.

The democrats are having a great time with this, its all they have, the HYPOCRITICAL arabs and their press, cohorts in international media are using a double standard.

The abuse happened, it is a problem being addressed. I just want the perps and their enablers punished. Karpinskis career is so over. She can't put it all on intelligence. She ran an undisciplined, sloppy Command. They all splattered their dirty deeds on the uniform others wear with honor. We shall overcome this...BUSH/CHENEY '04

But no, according to lelio, we need to humiliate them even more.

Oh give me a break, I'm sure your heart is bleeding for the Iraqis. Step back and try and see how idiotic you look trying to defend the indefensable. And that indefensable is the torture and humiliation of the prisoners, not the taking of photos and release of them.

I never defended the torture and humiliation of the prisoners. In fact I did the opposite. I said:

Your accusation is idiotic -- you are a dunce.

If it is against the Geneva Convention to humiliate prisoners, why is CBS broadcasting the photos. They are, in my opinion, as guilty of war crimes as the guards at the prison.

Exactly right.
US military was and is investigating.
No cover-up.
CBS has an agenda:
it wants to destroy President Bush,
nevermind that their unconscionable acts have
undermined our prosecution of the war in Iraq.
To CBS and their gleeful media competitors,
our American soldiers (and dare I say coalition soldiers also?)
must now fight in a light of hated we can only imagine.
