The soldiers involved were detained, the Commander had been relieved , the pictures were released because it was a big sensational "get" for CBS. I think it endangers our mission and our soldiers. Let's leave out political motive to CBS,just indifference to the result. I think that is damning, too.

A picture is worth a thousand words. The England girl playing fun and games with her former corrections officer wife beating boyfriend was a paper pusher, not on duty , "jes visitin'" dunce. What incredible stupidity and lack of discipline! Their own created porno movie.

That corrections officer knew the rules,he knew that "just following orders" doesn't work. MI may have conspired in encouraging this and needs close investigation. It is all very painful. Seems no one was really in charge.

The pictures of rape or brutality Rumsfield described leave me wondering why all the camera work? It isn't the usual prison guard who wants his misdeeds captured to be viewed by anyone who has a copy.

The democrats are having a great time with this, its all they have, the HYPOCRITICAL arabs and their press, cohorts in international media are using a double standard.

The abuse happened, it is a problem being addressed. I just want the perps and their enablers punished. Karpinskis career is so over. She can't put it all on intelligence. She ran an undisciplined, sloppy Command. They all splattered their dirty deeds on the uniform others wear with honor. We shall overcome this...BUSH/CHENEY '04

While I agree with most of your post, this part I just can't.

"Let's leave out political motive to CBS,just indifference to the result."

This is what Hillary Clinton said yesterday, as a member of the Armed Services Senate Committee:

Clinton: The focus on the pictures being released is, with all due respect, missing the point.

The release of these pictures was a violation of the Geneva Convention. And as one who was quoting the Geneva Convention in her "questioning" she should have known it.
