US media insist that posting the pics of the US contractors being strung up on the bridge in Iraq was too upsetting for the Americans? Some of them are being shown now, Cavuto did yesterday.
To: Howlin
If these prisoners were killed in a firefight with American soldiers, instead of captured. Nobody would have said a word. But take a few S&M photos and we are apologizing up one side of the planet and down the other. WTF!!!!

"I was abused in an Iraqi jail. I want reparations of $10,000,000. See the boo-boo they gave me?"
Put a band-aid on it and we'll give you a Purple Heart :-)

If they can think of an intelligent question to ask, after this VERY thorough briefing, I'll do a handstand.
Ya know, I can't wait for Hillary's question.

Army chief of staff Schoomaker: he is responsible for soldiers' training and readiness. We are dealing with conscious acts contrary to army values taught to soldiers from entry. Potential consequences serious, but these are a few among a great many others -- will affect morale and safety of great majority. They too take this personally. inexcusable behavior of a few not representative.
Currently undergoing extensive investigation of every allegation. Have already taken corrective action. Army is taking it seriously.

Does anyone know what our record in the past was regarding this sort of thing? I'm assuming that in any major war we've ever fought, there have been some instances of prisoner abuse. I would be surprised if this weren't the case, given the stresses of war and the fact that soldiers aren't hand-picked to include only Mr. Rogers types. Does anyone have any info on this?

Senator Levin: "mr. Secretary, will you apologize?"
Rumsfeld: "Sure. I'm sorry you're such an asswipe.."

Five minutes!!!! How the H can they make a good TV appearance by just having 5 minutes? This is an atrocity. Even the 9-11 Committee get 10 minutes!!!!

This is so cool ---- everyone is taking responsibility!
Rumsfeld is not left dangling by his self -- makes me proud to see them standing together -- united!
Now the committee will have trouble hanging the entire blame on just one man who has done a damm good job!
To: All
Does anyone know why this hearing started at 11:45?
Seems strange, especially if Bob Kerrey probably has a lunch meeting with one of the senators.
