OMG, how much more damage do they want?
Why? Why hurt the war effort like this? Why hurt the President like this? And Rumsfeld(whom I have a great amount of respect for)
To: maryz
"Rumsfeld first saw undoctored photos last night (not those in the press)."I dunno...he said something like "Doctored for some people's tastes"...which MIGHT mean the media photos...or that someone sicker than those guards and contractors was uh...improving them.

I agree. She said what needs to be said - over and over. Those charged with these acts do not represent the whole of America or our military, and they do not undercut the good deeds that have been done.

WHat the hell is that on top of Ben Nelson's head? That is one Bad TV preacher hairdo!!!
Is our media responsible for upholding the Geneva Convention rules with regards to POW's or just our military personnel? Do they face any charges for showing the pictures?
Not only was it a violation to take pictures of the abuse of the prisoners, it is a violation to distribute it. I wonder how many millions of people worldwide have seen those POW's being humilated?

CBS have broken the law and falls dangerously close, if not entirely guilty, of having both feet deeply planted into the muddy ground of treason.

Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) has a baaaaaaaaad rug.

In the word of Sideshow Bob, (with shutter) "Eeeeugh!" That would have been a bit too much, given how these women looked.

"Rumsfeld just said that there were only a few copies of the CDs. It is possible that the number of people with access to them will be sharply defined.
I DEMAND (do I sound like a dem?) to know who broke the law, compromised a criminal case, and humiliated all the upstanding members of the US military performing dangerous work in Iraq, by releasing these photos!!!"
NONE of these at this inquisition have asked one question about "WHO" took the pictures and "WHO" supplied them to the media. Not like these liberals to ignore anything that might pound the death nail into President Bush and or Rummy.
To: YaYa123
Myers can't possible tell Lindsey Graham, "The reason we didn't tell the congress about the pictures is because we knew the democrats would exploit them and risk getting soldiers killed." To be clear: Everybody including the media was informed back in January about the abuse allegations AND that pictures and video may or did exist.
Myers did NOT see the pictures before CBS got them.

teraing down the prison might actually be a smart PR move.

If they want to discuss compensation then we will deserve to know to whom we are discussing giving compensation. If it is a torturer, rapist, kidnapper, murderer, insurgent, or islammi thug, then I think they will know what to do.I don't like the idea of "compensation" for those who were/are terrorists.
This whole testimony is useless (ie. it's only a chance for politicians to grandstand). The abuse wasn't policy. The military has investigated it, corrections have been made, the suspects are being processed legally, etc.

I think the media and the dims have 'waaaay overreached here. This smacks of a witchhunt, and I think/hope/pray the American people know it.Sounds like it. From what I've heard, the phone lines are jammed from people calling these jerkoffs up to scream at them for their ridiculous pandering to the cameras. Earlier up-thread I passed on the results of an ABC/Compost poll I heard on the radio at the top of the 1:00 hour - 69% of the public thinks Rumsfled should not be fired. This after a nonstop media assault on the Administration at a level of hysteria I have never seen before, as well as what had to be an unprecedented application of "Zogby special poll sauce."
