This Committee interrogation is turning out to be about as effective against the GWB Administration as Dr. Rice's public testimony at the 9-11 Commission. It isn't going quite the way the libs would have hoped. Rumsfeld and Co are not folding. hehehe

"WHAT! My husband just came home and I was talking to him.
The Democrats are preparing articles of impeachment against Rumsfeld????? "
I am beginning to smell a set up. Somebody orchestrated this and knowing how DOD operates, sent the photos to the media. These "articles" are probably already written.
To: mtbopfuyn
And to those who did release them, what was their motive?Exactly what we're seeing...blame trying to be assigned to the Bush administration as approving of abusing Iraqi prisoners, which is a flat out lie.
To: Dog
What? Well, let them try.
To: Peach
Not anyone with a brain. It's only Charlie Rangel.

If they want to discuss compensation then we will deserve to know to whom we are discussing giving compensation. If it is a torturer, rapist, kidnapper, murderer, insurgent, or islammi thug, then I think they will know what to do.

Knowing there are many DEBKA haters on FR I post this anyway because they prove right more often than they are wrong. Clearly from the reports by Bremer to the WH that I have read his recommendations are the failed policies - not Rumsfeld's!
Excerpted from DEBKA:
Senior White House officials, including national security advisor Condoleezza Rice, senior NSC staffers and top Pentagon brass, were telling Bush back in February - about a month and a half before the current heavy fighting erupted in Iraq - that Bremer's policy was wrong and could do some real damage. DEBKA #147 (27 FEB 04) reported that Bush had decided to replace him but was looking for the right moment to avoid political aftershocks in Washington and Baghdad. Seeing the writing on the wall - Bremer approached Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry and offered to join his camp immediately after ending his Baghdad assignment. Bremer's support came with one condition: a promise he would be one of the front-runners for secretary of state if Kerry was elected.....Bush's point man in Iraq for an entire critical year is a hot property for Kerry's brainstorming team. His defection to the Democratic contender would eloquently spell out for the American voter what he thinks of Bush policy on one of the most sensitive issues of the election campaign. He will provide Kerry with an instant rebuttal weapon, an authoritative figure to face the cameras and challenge any new policy move, military step or statement made by a top Bush official on Iraq......But he (Bremer) is only biding his time until the end of June, when sovereignty in Iraq is transferred to an Iraqi caretaker government and he hands over the newly appointed US viceroy John Negroponte, current ambassador to the UN. Once Bremer is home, he will wait for a signal from Kerry and then make the jump to his top team of advisors.
Is this the "unforeseen event" that Hillary Clinton made reference to when she said Bush may not be reelected?

Thanks for transcribing:
Lieberman: Conduct intolerable. Notes that those responsible for killing 3,000 Americans on 9/11 never apologized. Those who killed soldiers in Iraq and murdered and burned contractors never apologized. Americans are different; that's why apologies were due. Must go about it a way that will not dishonor Killman and others like him or discredit the cause, which remains just and necessary. Must do this quickly, so we can get back to war on terrorism. We have to know how it happened.
