It's worth a double ping and gives me a chance
to post that beautiful picture again.

I could hear her say, 'I'm OK,' " he said. "That's more emotion than she has shown in 21/2 years. Then he said, 'I can see you have a father who loves you very much.' " To me this was what got my eyes moist. For 21/2 years she has had something bottled up that can only be described as hell on earth.

I've thought about the story and picture all day.....What hit me this afternoon: Bush didn't say "I'm sorry about your mother" or "I fell your pain" or express HIS feelings at all.
He said: "How are YOU doing?" and then let her know through that all encircling hug the comment that Mary made to Jesus as he carried the cross in THE PASSION; "I'm Here!"
No one needs to say any thing, just be there and let the other person know we stand beside them.

This is a big part of why this President is going to win re-election. He is likeable, an honorable and decent man. If John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Gary Conduit, etc., hug a 15 year-old-girl there is always this underlying, creepy sexual deviance feeling about it. Of course Bill Clinton won two terms in spite of this but I think people had enough of it and don't want anymore from the likes of a ghoulish creep like Kerry.

Great photo, great article, great man.
And thank you to Kristina Goetz/The Cincinnati Enquirer for writing/publishing it.
Now it's up to us to spread the story far and wide, and introduce the mainstream media to the power of the FReep!

Thanks Sarge.
It has special meaning for me: My brother and his family live in Lebanon OH, and all the kids have worked at that restaurant as hostesses, dishwasters, and cashiers...

Yes, this is a good and decent man leading our nation. He is also a visionary in the war on terror.

This photo is truly touching - but it is also horrifying that an ordinary, plain-spoken man is so unusual in American politics that he stands out as a heroic figure, even in an ordinary moment of showing true compassion, and that fabricated, phony creatures such as Clinton and Kerry have become the norm.
