Kerry's C.O. Says First P.H. Was Not Authorized by Him
FOX NEWS ^ | 4/28/2004 | self

Posted on 04/28/2004 9:59:40 AM PDT by kellynla

John Kerry's commanding officer was just interviewed on Fox News. According to Lt. Commander Grant Hibbard when Kerry showed up in front of him requesting a Purple Heart, Hibbard saw that he had a "scratch"(Hibbard's word) on his forearm. And because, according to Hibbard, there was no report of enemy action on Kerry's patrol that day and the "scratch" did not receive medical attention from a medical officer, Hibbard declined Kerry's request for a Purple Heart.

In any case, Kerry gets a silver star for finishing off a wounded guy AND no one can tell if the guy was already dead or not because it was behind (or in) this hootch.

As far as I'm concerned, let that be a problem for the liberals. I couldn't care less what Kerry did or did not do in VN, I care much more about what he did afterwards, when he provided propaganda material for Hanoi Jane to take over to our enemies. If conservatives stop talking about what he did in VN, then the liberals can discuss amongst themselves how they feel about it. I'm hoping many will decide to back Nader as a result. If we acknowledge his "war hero" status, it just makes them more suspicious of him.

"Kerry was skinny before 'Nam. It shows clearly in those pics of him yahting with John F. Kennedy."

Absolutely...and Navy chow is the best. It would put meat on a needle! LOL

I was just stating that a man's mettle should not be judged by the size of his arms. :-]

The way it's going now, I don't think Kerry could get elected to be a toilet attendant; incidentally, his campaign is about to be flushed.

At least we haven't made the same mistake that we made with the three time draft dodging Klintoon!

Lets hope the public has wised up because of Bill Craptoon.

How did he find the time to film his exploits as war hero extraordinairre

Can somebody explain this to me? Was that something that a lot of people in Vietnam did?

Did he really "reinact?"

The 3 PH rule was well known in REMFdom.

Which is what Kerry strove to be when he 'volunteered' for Swifty duty. A REMF. And when he found himself out front where he REALLY didn't want to be, he used that ticket out.

Who was the 2nd commander? We need a name for followup.

Didn't O'Neill serve on the 94?

Remember the 60 Minutes report that normally desk-bound Andy Rooney did about people who drive around with those Purple Heart license plates who hadn't actually received them?

Something tells me that he won't be sufficiently curious to investigate these charges.

I understand that the VC with the B-40 got tagged by the guy with the 60, and then the guy on the twin Ma Duece lit up the hootch with 50 rounds or so. THEN our heroic Senator moved in with his trusty M-16 to administer the coup de gras.

I believe he found out somehow and appears to have "planned" his "3PH's and out"...but then I am kind of cynical of Kerry...

I have the same cynicism. Just wondering where it might have left a paper trail if he did indeed do that. You have to figure if he did that there were other people doing it as well. Maybe he was in contact with others who can be identified as having done/arranged the same thing.

I remember that one! Frank Burns' Purple Heart request due to "shell fragment" in the eye- but it was an egg shell!

"No...No way Major Burns...I don't think that would be right" LOL.

I know how your husband felt. I had a small piece of shell fragment dug out of my sholder. The corpsman wanted to get the record for a PH and I left without giving him my name. I was scarred sh**less that my mom or wife would find out and worry worse than they already were. As far as I was concerned the PH's went to the guys that had to go home because of their wounds.

So we don't *need* to depend upon Senator Kerry's numerous scandals. We can be above this fray. We can beat them based solely upon our ideas, rather than on scandals.

Southack, I have to agree. I just listened to the video clip and frankly, it just sounded like sensational reporting from FoxNews. Even though the anchor did a good job with contrasting the guests point by presentingpositive aspects of Kerry's military service, it really just sounded a lot like a Michael Jackson/Kobi Bryant story.

Which could just be chalked up to poor taste on the part of the media, except that the RATS tie all these stories to the Republicans and there comes a point where the public will start feeling sympathy for the victim.

I don't think Bush/Cheney has actually pushed this subject, but I do think they'd better be careful to tread very lightly.

All that said, the real story about John Kerry's post Nam days isn't the medals, but what he testified to the Senate committee, his dealings with Hanoi and his involvment in VVAW and their schemes. If/when those stories come out, I think we will see Kerry topple like Saddam's statue, but as for now we shouldn't hope that he topples too soon.

I don't think my pal, Vince Rios, who lives in So. San Francisco - who lost BOTH LEGS AND HIS RIGHT ARM in Vietnam - is going to like this Kerry crap very much!!!!!!!!! (Vince was/is a Marine, too.)
