I know how your husband felt. I had a small piece of shell fragment dug out of my sholder. The corpsman wanted to get the record for a PH and I left without giving him my name. I was scarred sh**less that my mom or wife would find out and worry worse than they already were. As far as I was concerned the PH's went to the guys that had to go home because of their wounds.

Bless you. Dean has a thicker upper lip from a helicopter canopy that lacerated him and some "tatoos" on his hind end from VC ground fire.
Since he was doing clean up, carrying dying or terribly wounded soldiers back to MASH units, he didn't feel that a few stitches were something to bitch about.
I am so proud of him. 6 Bronze Stars and 2 DFC's before he was 30.
