My apologies if a thread already exists. I did a search on "Toomey" and found nothing.
I arrived at my polling area (suburban Philadelphia) at 6:45 am to hand out palm cards. The weather is terrific this morning, but turnout (I thought) was light (I had to leave at 9:15, but will be back).
Actually, I have a good feeling about Pat.

Speaking of Soros and commercials, have any of you seen the latest ones from "Moveon" where they tell of Pres. Bush being AWOL for 8 months from the Guard then getting an early release to go to Harvard....while war hero Kerry was injured and saving people in Vietnam? They are SO disgusting and they just started running them in Ariz. on Fox News no less!

Incidently, I'm in TN too. Sat next to Sundquist at a Lincoln Day Dinner just before his re-election telling all of us how wonderful TN was because of the low taxes. 2 months later he was pushing the IT. And you're right, Sundquist is and will be an millstone around are neck for some time.

Was it an open primary or did they have to register/switch parties by some predetermined date?

As if a left-leaning RINO would keep any promise offered in exchange for such an endorsement. GWB blew it. Bush seems to have a way of making the people who cross him pay for it.

AP calls it for Spector.

What a laugh...I gave up on intelligent debate around here months ago. Which is clearly evident in your posts...

There will likely NEVER be an open primary in Pennsylvania.

I disagree, but your opinion is noted. I see nothing but top down management over every little detail based on polls and politics.

Take solace in knowing Specter is 74. He won't be around much longer. You call that consolation? Rendell would pick his successor should Specter not be able to complete his term.

Wrong, I blamed republican voters for voting RINO's into office. Re-read my post.

Toomey wouldn't have been "too conservative" if Bush and Santorum had backed him. That Toomey could get this close to a sitting Senator is quite something.
To: KQQL
I forgive ! :) LOL .. You forgot the salt
Well Toomey tried and gave a good effort
Now it's time to get ready for Novemeber

Rove was so smart that he almost lost the election in the last two days in 2000. Instead of exposing the DUI early in the summer, he let the Dems exploit the opportunity for a last second surprise that turned the last second undecideds and chased away a significant number of religious voters. A blowout was turned into a popular vote loss and the smallest possible electoral victory (depending on less than a thousand votes). I'd rather see Ralph Reed running things than Rove. Reed delivers crushing victories. Rove delivers narrow victories and defeats.

I've been here as long as you...it's the volume of flames, attacks and inability to even discuss that has eroded the debate the last few months.
But not to worry. This is just an exception. You'll be happy to know my posting is normally now zero.
