Incidently, I'm in TN too. Sat next to Sundquist at a Lincoln Day Dinner just before his re-election telling all of us how wonderful TN was because of the low taxes. 2 months later he was pushing the IT. And you're right, Sundquist is and will be an millstone around are neck for some time.

I now...he ran for re-election on no income tax and tried to shove it down our throats all becuase he and the Dems spent like mad.
My wife will never forgive me for being for Don "the Tax terrorist" Sundquist.
Thanks to him we have Bredesen who is going to do the same thing once he's re-elected. I don't buy his "reforms".

Sundquist was SUCH a disappointment!
I worked for his election first time around - he had a connection to Shelbyville, having lived there and worked at I think the Jostens' Plant. I even gave money. Went door to door.
But just dang! Did he ever give 'Pubbies a bad name - the Dims can (rightly) call US the "tax and spend" party after his administration!!
