Kerry Boatmate: Vietnam Troubles Just Beginning

Sen. John Kerry's Monday morning meltdown on "Good Morning America" may be just the beginning of his troubles, according to one of his Vietnam boatmates, who is warning that more of the men who served alongside the Massachusetts Democrat are preparing to go public with their accounts.

Texas lawyer John O'Neill, who served on Kerry's swiftboat after he left Vietnam just four months into his tour, told WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg on Sunday, "I was in exactly the same unit. There were many people who were there simultaneously with him who are all about to speak."

O'Neill gained brief fame in 1971 when he debated Kerry on the "Dick Cavett Show" and forced him to admit he never personally witnessed the war crimes he'd been accusing U.S. troops of committing.

Though he's been contacted by Kerry's opponents every time the Massachusetts Democrat has run for office in the 33-years since - O'Neill has refused to speak out. Until now.

Referring to reports this week in the Boston Globe questioning whether Kerry may have exaggerated his combat record, O'Neill told Malzberg, "This is just the first opening. They'll be many different people. But I'd prefer to let the people who were actually there speak directly."

O'Neill cited a Jan. 29, 1969 firefight that Kerry claims on his campaign web site that he and his boatmates were in.

"But according to the Boston Globe," said the swiftboat veteran, "Kerry was not even on the boat that night. The guy that was really on the boat was a fellow officer of ours named Ted Peck. He remembers well that fight because he was terribly wounded in three places."

"There was no Kerry anywhere around," O'Neill said. "And yet it appears on his web site as some pitched battle that Kerry was involved in."

Noting that the Democratic presidential candidate has made his Vietnam war experience the centerpiece of every campaign for office, O'Neill complained: "It's [Kerry's] self promotion that infuriates most of the people from his unit who actually know what he did."

"He would be a terrible Commander-in-Chief of U.S. forces in the world at a time of crisis," the Kerry boatmate warned.

To: hope This is a terrible mistake. Shut up, everyone! Stop tearing Kerry down. Wait until after the Democratic Convention to launch your attacks. Otherwise, we may blow Kerry up before the convention and Hill*** will be the nominee. And she will be far, far more difficult to defeat than Kerry.

I think you've NAILED it! Kerry is just a ruse to distract America, and then "Her Henious" will be the DemoN-Rat candidate.

Look, I'm glad this guy is finally coming out, but think of all the damage that could have been averted if he had used his knowledge to keep Kerry out of the Federal government all those years ago.

But how can Kerry possibly think he can get by with misrepresenting his Vitnam actions without some poor devil who was doing the real heavy lifting while he cowered in a corner calling his bluff?

This strategy worked great in ultra liberal Massachusetts for many elections. So John (the fraud) Kerry figured he could go nationwide with it

Malzberg mentioned tonight that in the near future about 300 vets who served at that time or in Kerry's area (not sure) will sign a document stating that Kerry's not fit to be Commander-In-Chief.

Very good. And John Kerry thought he could skate on his terrible denigration of our men in Vietnam and our Vietnam war effort. Out on the stump, the jerk-off surrounded himself with a few Vietnam war stooges, he called "band of brothers". What a farce!

Kerry's war record is in deconstruction mode.

Howie Carr's radio show mentioned this website 'mistake' yesterday, too. Howie blasted Botoxwonder for at least an hour. They must be loading up sandbags over at RAT headquarters, as this mess isn't going away, esp. since Boywonder brought it on himself and continues to talk about it and make things worse everytime he opens his mouth. (When you marry an arrogant woman whose only claim to fame is that she married $700 million bucks, the arrogance is catching.) How dumb does he think the average American is? The endless SUV's, foreign cars, huge homes, boats, fancy vacations. Now there's talk that he's supposed to give a speech in Detroit (about lost jobs). What are the odds he suddenly buys a couple of American made small cars before then?

I don't fault Mr. O'Neill for not "coming out" about Kerry years ago. Remember, those were the days before internet. Cronkite & Company controlled the air. The liberal media would have ignored Mr. O'Neill or massacred him for speaking up.

It's divine fortune that Mr. O'Neill is in the right place at the right time now. The world-wide web is getting his message around. Truth will out.

The Dan Rather, Judy Woof-Woof and Chrissie Matthews types can only gnash their teeth and pound their own keyboards in frustration.

Not to pick on you, but I hear this all the time, and I say, "So what?" I believe she will be easier to beat than Kerry will.
