Hey, girlfriend, I'm on it, already rang in upthread a couple of times. Once I finally got over being dropjawed I've lit up the phone lines. I'm fuming. I've called the entire LA delagation, senators and reps, and the Governor's office. Just called an old friend, active in pubbie politics in FLA, former elected official, now a lobbiest about these nuts in St Pete. Waiting to hear back from him. This is outrageous.

that we should actually pick up our gun and shot for Rumsfeld. The phrase "pull the trigger" has several different meanings, especially when used in an arumentative context.
it Looks like you write like a fifteen year old. They did not call on we to shoot him, they are implying that he should be shot by one of their own. Pull the trigger, lets see, in baseball it means get a hit, in football it means throw the ball, I don't think they were talking about sports... I pull a trigger regularly, I know what it means.

I think, but correct me if you find a citation otherwise, you can threaten cabinet members (especially veiled threats like this on), unless there is a fear you will actually carry out such action. How about a U.S Senator, like...umm...say, the junior Senator from New York, just as an example?

called Kerry's senate office and said if they took any money from this group, they're taking blood money.

Say the same thing about Richard Cohen - or a probably member of Kerry's cabinet. You won't get the same treatment.
I am saying by focusing our argument on that "threat" we are ignoring the bigger issue - the misguided attack on the Presidents foreign policy. The American public will just think this is politics as usually, unless there are actual legal actions taken against these yahoos. But if we respond to the broader message of this ad, we will be a better voice.

"The libs have become completely unhinged." What I'm wondering is how long it's going to be before they're officially recognized as domestic enemies. That IS what they are. They are a threat to our national security every bit as much as terrorists are.

I think the problem here is less about trolling than it is that graf008 just isn't very smart.

Read David Horowitz's book, Left Illusions. It will explain what happened to the democratic party. It's long, but it explains his journey from red-diaper baby/60s radical to Ronald Reagan supporter, with his writings from each phase, and the events that made him take a second look at his original political leanings. It's good. You'll learn a lot more than you anticipate. Radical Son is another good one that gives the same thoughts, with a little less reading.

called Kerry. Staffer was nice, but she wanted all comments directed to the campaigns staff. I just said, If Kerry takes this money, he's accepting blood money. (call the campaign staff). Pass my comments on to the senator, then I hung up.

This is a little off topic. I watched a documentary last night on the history channel about German U-boats in the Gulf of Mexico during WWII. It was mentioned that the U-boats were sinking oil tankers to rob the allies of fuel. Pres. Roosevelt used his "CENSORSHIP BOARD" to keep a lot of that info out of the newspapers so there wouldn't be a panic. Seems like we've done a 180 now, and its okay to be against your government in time of war, and give aid and comfort to the enemy, all without being charged with treason. Perhaps we should pursue traitors with a new law that forbids "lying" against your government in time of war. The burden of proof would be on the traitor.

The line on actual threats and veiled political attacks is vague, but she is not the President (and never was).

Been helping out since last summer! Think this campaign is actually an extension of 2000 -- neverending campaign that keeps on going.

Well, I'm glad YOU know they can't fire a gun. I certainly DON'T know that and from their hate filled ad, I wouldn't put any bets on that position you are holding.
I'm not so sure about your 'no legal repercussions,' either. Contacting lawyers now, since you brought it to mind. Thanks.

just got off the phone with the FL dem party and told them how outrageous this was. said an apology wasn't enough, they need to donate the money from this ad to the families of fallen soldiers...said if they just whitewash it, it will be brought up again and again...What was their response? Did they admit to running the ad?

"Just when you think the Dim's couldn't slip lower..... " I've given up thinking that they will ever reach a point that they will not sink any lower. They could reach hell itself and they'd be trying to dig deeper.

'We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall..and pull the trigger'This is some very sick stuff, and should be fully investigated by the Secret Service. I have no doubt that Democrats would gladly assassinate our leaders. Heck, they pulled that stuff in Russia in 1918, didn't they???
