Catholic leaders issue stern warning
A Catholic priest, who was transferred two years ago after delivering a vulgar Easter homily advocating the ordination of women and married men, may be starting a breakaway church, Catholic officials said yesterday.
A Web site says that the Rev. William Hausen will be pastor of Christ Hope Ecumenical Catholic Church, which will begin holding services May 2 at Sewickley Country Inn.
The church's Web site, www.christhope.com, has no phone number and Hausen could not be reached for comment yesterday.
Officials of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh said they were trying to reach Hausen, who has been on administrative leave from ministry since October.
"Please be advised that this church is not part of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, is not recognized by Bishop [Donald] Wuerl, and is not sanctioned either by this diocese or the Apostolic See [Vatican]," said a notice faxed to pastors late yesterday afternoon. "You may wish to advise your parishioners of this notification and that participation in this church has grave consequences."

"Grave consequences" means that once he holds the breakaway service, Hausen is excommunicated and those who attend "become excommunicated when they understand that that is the penalty," said the Rev. Ronald Lengwin, spokesman for the diocese. I find this fairly interesting. A man who speaks out against the way the church has conducted the child raping, is punished. And if he conducts a service, he and any who attend will be excommunicated. Meanwhile, the priests who fancy sodomizing children are welcomed into the fold .....

At least he is honest. If one doesn't believe what the Church teaches, one should as a matter of conscience and intellectual honesty leave.

HAHHH
Breakaway Church? I just know the AMERICAN Bishops aren't complaining.... Unless it's from the fear of a competing Breakaway Church!
When they get back in line with Rome, then maybe they have room to complain.
To: Doctor Stochastic

This is what Martin Luther did long ago and the rest is history. Now the Lutheran church and Anglican church want full communion with Rome. Never going to happen. To complain is one thing but a break from the mother church is another.

The Rev. Bill Hausen in 1999.
Billy should get in touch with his fellow heretics Kissling, McBrien, Kerry, et al and they can all hold hands and sing "Kumbaya". Let's hope he springs for a decent haircut though. He won't want to be looking so silly during his particular judgment.
To: Doctor Stochastic
Kerry's doing it. The Church isn't trying to rein him in.

fishbabe-
You are correct, there was a priest who left the Roman Catholic church to start a church of his own.
Although Catholisism as a matter of doctrine is open to all races Fr. Stallings felt otherwise.
From an churchy website:
The African American Catholic Congregation ("Imani Temple") was founded in July 1989 by Roman Catholic Fr. George A. Stallings, b. 1948, a noted black liturgist and pastor. He originally started the AACC as an attempt at a "new rite" within the Roman Catholic Church. In December 1989, he formally broke with the Roman Catholic Church and started to seek consecration within the Independent-Movement. It is said that attendance at Imani Temple declined somewhat after Fr. Stallings announced the break from Rome.

Now the Lutheran church and Anglican church want full communion with Rome. ??? What? Unless something has drastically changed since I grew up (yeah, it's been quite a while since I attended a Luthern service), the Lutherns do not recognize the Pope as God's voice.

I love it, his "church's" traditions seem to be a re-hash right out of AA, albeit a short version.
He said in his homily something about Catholics being pissed off about the church's handling of the child abuse crisis. I'd tell him "No sir! We're pissed off about the church allowing the homosexual priests(i.e pederasts)running rapaciously thru our seminaries and using their office to feed their narcissistic desires."
It's almost laughable that he quotes disingenuously from Catholic Theology about once being a priest always a priest. Yes--always a priest--an apostate one and soon to be excommunicated one.
