Bad things happen in the world no matter how capable you are. The 9/11 tragedy was one of them. She isn't in a "no-win" situation, you can be alert and still be attacked. She is showing very capably that the administration was watchful, this attack simply came out of the blue and was unpreventable. I give her high marks and think she is doing tremendous service in making the administration look good despite the fact that unpreventable bad things happen in the world.

Switch to a Republican. Did anyone counsel all-out war on Afghanistan prior to 9/11. No, of course not. Not possible to do without the cooperation of Pakistan.

Well, not exactly, new tactic today. They're accusing asking a question then demanding that she respond but then trying to keep her from respondikng by demanding that she respond. Interesting ploy but transparent as everything.

Now gorelick will follow up with condi in a private hearing. So they can "leak" the info to the media since they seem to be getting their butts kicked in the public hearing where some dem idiots thought Condi could be strong-armed.
To: don-o
Follow up in a private session? Hopefully it involves a tire-iron. :)

I don't have cable, having to watch on CBS. They had a split screen with GoreLick on one side. GoreLick started talking to an aide during Condi's answer, SeeBS immediately dropped her from the screen when it looked like she wasn't paying attention, or scheming.

Who reported that?

But will they show up? Last time she met with them privately only five of the ten showed up.

Does he still blink like someone was hair-spraying his eyes while he talks? What was that about?

Ben-Veniste has never been anything but a partisan a**hole; there is no way he should have been named to this committee.

Gorelick was Reno's butt girl. She was hand picked by Janet Reno Then maybe Gorelick can explain why in th 93 bombing of the WTC her department choose to go thru the courts and a Grand Jury
Which tied the hands of the intel departments .. because information rec'd by the Grand Jury could not be shared

Oh yeah, clinton had a plan. It involved a cigar, a tin of Altoids, and a pair of knee-pads. And it would've worked, too, if not for those pesky Republicans.
