Condi should slow down a little and speak more simply, using baby words, for Gorelick to be able to understand her.

Prior to learning who sat on the commission, I foolishly believed their assertions that it would be non-partisan UNTIL I learned Ben-Veniste and Kerrey were members. Their roll today is clear -- make an explosive statement so that soundbites will be replayed over and over by news outlets. Fortunately, thus far, Dr. Rice is thwarting their efforts.

I believe it's Gorilla-licks law firm that is representing the Saudi that the 9-11 families have filed a law suit against.
How's that for conflict of interest?

The commission Clinton assembled in '98 to "explore" the threat of terrorism and they finished it early 2001.... After all that time the best they could come up with was that something "Big" was going to happen, someday soon. How do you act on that ?

" expect the lead of the news stories in the liberal media to start, "Sparks flew during Condi Rice's testimony...."
Yeah the news guy in my mind is already hearing headlines like that and I'm already having a Maalox moment.

Not once did Clarke tell her these agencies needed to be brought together. Slap.

Someone said on another post that she has a legal case going agains Saudi for a 9/11 member. (Why is she on this commission?)
To me it sounds like a like of questions, well let's try to bury Bush and Condi, of course, but also they sound like fact gathering for her case.
And those applauders should be silenced. Freepers are NEVER allowed to do that, so they shouldn't be either. Looks like they got their points from the Dems on what to do to provide sound bites.
I can just see Rather, "Bereaved 9/11 families reacted strongly to efforts by Rice to sidestep pointed questions by panel members...)

Condi is making Gorelick look like the fool that she is!

Why couldn't this be freeped? Are you saying you had to be a family member to get in? That's sick.

BOY does she lay it on the line.......It's a long term problem. Why hadn't something been done before to solve the problems?
To: mtbopfuyn
Goddammit, if she mentions "233 days" one more time it will transcend from a point to a whine.

The millenium threat isn't even comparable to the 9/11 threat. One of the reasons it would've been easier to lock-down for the Mellennium is because you knew when it was happening...there was a specific date.

Rice is dominating despite the attempts by Gorelick to lecture her rather than listen to her - which supposedly is the point of a hearing. Gorelick sounding kind of frustrated, in fact, at not being able to get in enough shots at Rice and Bush.
To: mombonn
Condi Rice is systematically creaming Dick Clarke.
He will now be forced to come out and once again change his story.

"gorelick is disgusting. Asked Condi "Did you actually read the list", like you'd address a 3 year old. I'm not sure I can stand listening to this much longer - these RATS are beyond disgusting."
I agree. This is disgusting. A bunch of failed nobody's (on both sides), browbeating the administration because they didn't achieve the impossible, and somehow prevent 9-11. The aim of this arrogant group of clowns is OBVIOUSLY not to find out the "problems" that allowed 9-11 to happen, but to assault the Bush administration... and those clapping RATS are REALLY getting on my nerves. Disgraceful, all of it.
To: texasbluebell
Why aren't there ever any republican attack dogs? Exactly and why aren't the hearings focused on the Clinton admin? Our side is just politically incompetent.
To: Catspaw
She is weaving in the Clinton admins omissions to address terrorism for eight years.
YES !
To: johnb838
Condi knows she's dealing with a bunch of idiots.
