ABC is right, Free republic is the best place for important and breaking news. They should memo all employees mandating the use of Free Republic so that they can report the news better.

Hysterical!
I don't think they can possibly comprehend that Drudge puts things they will never have the guts or will to put on their front page...
Such things as links to the Washington Times, Ann Coulter, etc... spring immediately to mind...

I remember the Fox News web site tried this about a couple of years ago and it didn't work for them. The reason I go to Drudge is so that I don't have to go to places like ABC. If I am not going to watch their television shows why would I go to their web site.
To: Crazieman
LOL
Some of you are currently using a certain other Web site as your homepage because you are under the misguided impression that it is the best place for BREAKING news and DEVELOPING stories that are IMPACTING now.
But given that elsewhere the focus is often entertainment news or earthquakes (geological ones, not geopolitical ones), we bet that a lot of you in this presidential year would like a one-stop shopping place to go to get all the information on the election -- faster than the AP (Sorry, Fournier.), more colorful than cable, and more direct than calling Howard Fineman.
The Note itself will still be there, as your ultimate morning must-read, but throughout the day, you'll now have the companion Noted Now to keep you refreshed.
Note to our sources: this is going to be the place where you can reach all sorts of political journalists and others in the game -- fast and efficiently. So let the leaking and pitching commence right now.
It's The Note and it's NOW!!! Go check out Noted Now, and make it your homepage today. (LINK).
Yeah I'm gonna make ABCnews' "The Note" my one-stop shop for all the REAL news.

All those network news sites are slow because of all the political filters and glamorization their stories need to go through to get published. Plus they gotta add dumb take-forever-to-load graphics, spam for all their sister companies, plus sidebar headlines touting the network's latest half-a$$ed sitcoms or "reality" shows. And they top it all off with a soulful pic of their airhead news anchor looking all wistful like Buddha just told him he's better than everybody else and will suffer disdain because of it.

Dear friends, it is NOT Drudge, ABC, CNN or any of the alphabets that is best for breaking news.
It is Free Republic! Free Republic is on top of every breaking event and has scooped the major newsies on everything from the shuttle disaster to on-the-ground combat in Iraq!
Get your news better and FASTER at Free Republic! Get your commentary immediately, wide-ranging, and conservatively focused.
(For all that you better donate to the freep-a-thon!)

Drudge may be better than ABC... but not by that much.
He's no conservative, nor do I find him even particularly fair to conservatives (other than O'Reilly, who deserves everything he gets).
Plus, he loves to pass off tabloid crap as news.

LOL!
I made the mistake of signing up for their news alerts years ago. I can't get rid of them now. I don't know why I want to though. Where else can I get breaking news alerts from four hours ago?
The absolute best news source is Freerepublic. Drudge would probably be second or third.
