Al Franken-Fraud Air America Radio Link-LIVE THREAD Day 1

A Wonketeer writes, point your browser here (link) at noon and you will be able to listen to this crap fest yourself.
Don't do it before noon or you will be subjected to more 1950's music than you can handle.
When you think about it, it totally makes sense : Air America the liberal radio network, will not be broadcasting in the DC metro area.. DC went 70 percent for Gore! They don't need convincing.
We suspect that Air America will blow. Then again, it could suck.
Or perhaps it will achieve some mysterious simultaneous combination of the two. And while we are normally unopposed to mocking things that we have no direct knowledge of, this material seems rich.
For those of you who reside in one of the five areas covered by the Air America 'empire,' please send along your thoughts and comments.

There are some good liberal arguments out there about issues but all they have done is make fun of conservatives with what I call 7th grade humor.
As for substance, I'm trying real hard to listen to Kerry without falling asleep. What I am getting out of it is that Bush reacted too slowly before 9/11 and too fast after 9/11.. ; Bush should have been read the minds of terrorists; etc Of course he offers no alternative of how or what he would have done differently to stop the 19 people from attacking.
I do see though that Kerry also believes he gains points by attacking Bush on what he did or did not do before and after 911. Great, he hasn't realized it helps Bush. If he was smart he would be injecting jobs, economy etc into the conversation but he is focused on 911 to his detriment. He isn't a smart politician.

Why would you want to boycott that show?
It will cause more people who wasn't to move toward conservatism. It will not add anything to liberalism but shame.

When I worked in radio, if my stop set was going to be too short and I had a news update at the bottom of the hour, I'd throw in a PSA just to fill my stop set so that it would bump right up against the news update theme music, with no dead air in between.

What a total joke. Franken could crap an original thought if his miserable life depended on it. "The O'Franken Factor"? The "Zero Spin Zone"? He is an attention starved washed-up would be comedian. Can't he think of an original name for his dorky show?
What a moron.

I really like Roger Hedgecock, I found him when Rush took the month off to go to rehab. Personally I call him "The Mayor of Talk Radio". LOL :)

I'm sure it has all the charm of watching a chicken with it's head just cut off still jumping around! Not even close. More like watching frozen chicken thaw on the supermarket shelf.

I suspect that the need to buy time rather than sell their show is a fairly major financial set back for the network. It is a good indication that there is no market for this news. Geezz.... one of the stations is using their feed temporarily until they get their own programming developed two months out. In radio, this is already a failure.
To: Mo1
I thought Kerrey just said the opposite. The way I heard it, he said that he wouldn't have subpoenaed the president, and he actually felt that it isn't necessary for the president to testify at all, because it's mainly the security people, (CIA, FBI, NSC) that need to answer questions.

Another radio personality from Hedgecock's home station in SDGO is Rick Roberts who I really liked listening to late at night. He and I crossed paths a few years ago in radio.

I don't believe this is a real attempt at establishing a liberal talk network. I think its a 7 month infomercial, camoflaged as a "counter to rightwing talk radio".
I also strongly suspect it will be off the air within thirty days of Kerry being defeated.
The latest Nielson's seem to support my theory. CNN ratings are down, as are MSNBC's (remember, MSNBC actually was considering bankruptcy in the wake of its attempt at being the exclusive liberal cable news outlet).
Many people have stated "liberals don't understand what it takes to be sucessful in talk radio". I disagree, no matter how much you hate the liberal point of view, they are not completely stupid (I know some will violent dispute that notion....LOL). But the fact is, numbers have been crunched, polls have been conducted, sales have been projected. And in spite of all the negative numbers this produced, we are stilling getting "liberal talk radio".
Kinda reminds me of a few years ago, when the "Drudge Retort" website went up. Anybody visited that website lately?
Me neither....

See, such great radio will put even devoted Dems to sleep.
I want them to try and get their messages out there because they have nothing and it will be more evident over time.
They are crying to be listened to and when people do they will get turned off.
What can they offer? They are not for personal growth and success.
How far can they get with jealousy of others and handouts to keep people down.
If the democrat plan was done, it would collapse in on itself since there would be no successful people to tax and support the great society vision.
