media on major networks tonight: former Bush national security official provides explosive testimony under oath that President Bush was asleep on terrorism relative to the Clinton administration.
The $64 question is, will the American people be dumb enough to accept this?

"Audience claps when Clarke says he doesn't think it's a matter of morality at all."
I missed it - what isn't a matter of morality?

From what I can make of the bogus charge, Angle and FNC released something that was supposed to be "background" only. It's backround only as long as the WH says it's backround.
It's good to be the WH. heh heh heh.
To: MEG33
I was thinking something like Bin-Ladenste.
To: mewzilla
Could someone give me the shorthand version of what Angle was supposed to have done that was so unethical? The argument is that while the release is okay, attributing the statements to an identifiable person (Clarke) is a breach.
Even then, a fair question to Clarke is "as between the White house statement of August 2002, and your book, which is a more accurate reflection of the truth, and why?" He never did answer that question.

ok...let's see... Fox = no journalistic integrity, CBS = beacons of all that is right in the media world...does that sum it up?

Yes, it was released by the WH, they gave permission to Fox to use it.

"You are 100% wrong.
You are confusing a background briefing with a confidential source. Two different animals. One speaks as an anonymous source within an organization with the approval of that organization. The other is a "deep-throat" type source who is speaking without approval. It's the organization's call if they choose to release the name of the person doing the background briefing. It's between the reporter and the confidential informant on the release of their name."
"I disagree here people. Fox news is our beacon of info. This hurts them. You do not reveal background sources, even if they are lying."
Could well be 100% wrong, however, I did not post this.

Why don't you get some exercise, as your chicken-little-naysaying is getting on everyone's nerves.

Mark Levin was fantastic, as always. I wish I had a transcript.
BTW, you were great in providing copy during the hearing.

"He didn't resign because he was too important."
Clarke had his govt pension in mind - wanted maximum number of years of service - he hit the 30-year mark I believe

Well, you've got it there in a nutshell, of course...
To: Cboldt
That's okay. From what Rep. Dreier said on FNC this morning, Clarke's latest version also differs from the testimony he's given various intell committees. Anyone mentioned that little tidbit?
To: Spotsy
"what i heard 'backstage'".
Nice freudian slip, which reveals much truth here.
To: Spotsy
His answer implied he was too important, though!
