you can only love one person at a time, for Clarke that is himselfHe must be a very happy man then.

"I disagree here people. Fox news is our beacon of info. This hurts them. You do not reveal background sources, even if they are lying. You go to jail to protect your sources, you don't run bold headlines proclaiming the fact that you are outing a background source. They screwed up big time."
Seems to me that we have witness Clarke make the claim that he was told to go and give background presenting only the "positive" about what was going on. He has accused the Bush administration of telling him to LIE.
Seems to me that if the Bush administration did not want to be sourced, that would have demanded, this would give credibility to the supposed "JOE WILSON" claim that the Bush administration was calling reporters outing his wife.
Rather having it known that this came from the Bush administration up front, sends a signal that we are playing hard ball.

Excellent, looking forward to seeing Neil discuss this with Jim Angle.

The way he apologised was in my mind, to say " Bush failed you and I'm sorry I couldn't get him to do what I wanted to be done. It was my fault (victim here) that I just couldn't get dumb Bush to understand"

If this country was not polarized by now this man has now completely polarized this nation. This whole 9-11 commission is a sham, not put there to find flaws as to what happened, but to be used as a political tool!

The elite NY networks have ruined reputations and smeared with impunity for decades.
And now they are putting on a show trial, with witnesses under oath, testifying about a book they have not seen and that has not been deemed credible by a judge.
They have run this country long enough.
We are at war with these east coast commies, and it is time for us to some smearing of our own.

The concept that a person giving something off the record, can later be payed back by the White House, by giving up his anonymity, without his/her consent, is chilling to me. "Chilling"? So you think its better that a public official give false statements than to prove the falsity of those statements via videotape? That's just odd.
I think you've got the incentives all wrong here. The only incentive this will create is for people to speak truthfully at press briefings, and not to change their story afterwards.
You say that the result of this will be that there will be no more "off the record" briefings including FoxNews. How so? Is the next person tasked by the White House to speak to the press going to refuse to do so? Your parade of horribles ignores that he was not speaking as a private person, but rather in his capacity as a White House official.
To: dogbyte12
yes...absolutely...Stephie would have been speaking for the WH...it's the WH who can give to ok to play it...

Problem was, there's a story there were TWO pharmaceutical plants... one of them linked to an Iraqi front company.
And the Clinton admin & press never did make it too clear on which one they hit... one time they said it was linked to al Qaeda, the next to Iraqi WMD.

Man, Pacifica radio is funny.

Gorelick is questioning as if President Bush knew the exact nature and date of the attack!
%%%%
And the pattern of clapping by the gallery, prove that they are NOT there to learn anything, but to see the defeat of the Bush Presidency.
This is NOT about September 11, 2001 and those 'families' in the gallery should be exposed.
