I posted the following statement to our front page in response to the criticism I'm receiving lately as to not being fair and balanced and perceived mistreatment of trolls and assorted malcontents. Got news for all, I'm NOT fair and balanced. I'm biased toward God, country, family, liberty and freedom and against liberalism, socialism, anarchism, wackoism, global balonyism and any other form of tyranny. Hope this helps.
Statement by the founder of Free Republic:
In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.
Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.
Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.
May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.

I'm not sure why I bother to answer but I do agree with you 1000 percent. Their whining from the left is not worth my time to notice except that I realize if we do not continue to be vigilant our silence then becom es our tacit agreement and this we can never allow to happen.

What's with all the vanities?
That's the way to tell 'em how the cow ate the cabbage!
Thank you Jim for Free Repupublic. It helps to keep me sane.
Spoken like a true leader! I salute you. Trolls begone...
Amen. This organization has made one of the greatest contributions to freedom in modern times. All the conservative talking heads come hear to get information and ideas. I think FR is the best site on the internet.
You tell'em Jim! No trolls allowed.
When FR is down I don't even check the internet.
I need to get out more.
Thank you, Jim Robinson! The correct side is the right side, and though we pay in blood and treasure for benefit of all, we stand and voice the ideas of freedom that our founding father's wisdom gave us at great cost to themselves. God bless you in all of your endeavors.
Anyone complaining is welcome to post on DU. Anything less than an extreme left wing view gets your posting privileges revoked. Dissent is allowed here, providing it is fact based.

Amen to that. Because the media belongs to the CFR, because George Soros bought the democratic party, it will appear as though our views are 'extreme', when, in fact, all we are doing is supporting government as the founding fathers saw it when they so carefully constructed 3 branches of government--and all those checks and balances.
Who says anything has to be 'fair and balanced'? What the heck is this...FOX NEWS?
No, this is FREE REPUBLIC. Read my lips--the US is not a democracy, it is a REPUBLIC. Those of us who understand that, congregate here. Those people who do not, attack with ridiculous demo-blabber.
The Founders of our great nation never intended America to be a democracy. It is a republic. Article IV, Section 4, of the Constitution says, The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.
Not only did our Founding Fathers establish a republic, they greatly feared democracy. James Madison, known as the father of the U.S. Constitution, wrote in "Essay #10" of The Federalist Papers: "... democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths."
Although such an attitude will surprise most Americans, it is accurate.
The United States Constitution does not contain the word "democracy". It does "guarantee to every State in this Union a republican form of government...." Also, when we recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, we say, "to the Republic for which it stands," and not "to the Democracy."
The difference between a republic and a democracy was once widely understood in America. The U.S. War Department (superseded by the Department of Defense) taught that difference in a training manual (No. 2000-25) published on November 30, 1928. This official U.S. government document, used at the time for the training of American military personnel, said of democracy:
A government of the masses.
Authority derived through mass meeting or any other form of 'direct' expression.
Results in mobocracy.
Attitude toward property is communistic - negating property rights.
Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether it be based upon deliberation
or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences.
Results in demogogism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy."
It went on to state: "Our Constitutional fathers, familiar with the strength and weakness of both autocracy and democracy, with fixed principles definitely in mind, defined a representative republican form of government. They 'made a very marked distinction between a republic and a democracy and said repeatedly and emphatically that they had founded a republic.' "
So people who come here to do some blasting lib style and don't understand these fundamental principles ought to step off.
GOD bless you Mr. Robinson for starting the ball rolling.
Never forget Mr. Robinson.
Free Catnip for all the Viking Kitties! :-)
Well said.
That's why I'm here.
Thanks Jim, FR has been a great outlet for RIGHT causes, debates and activism....also has helped me with spelling and made me better looking!
Thank you for the opportunity to both read and share. Ran across your Web site today -- and was both encouraged and challenged. I hope to become a more active participant in my Constitutional rights -- and duties. Thank you for the opportunity to do so.
