Riyadh Kingdom of Saudi Arabia TV1 in Arabic, official television station of the Saudi Government, carries on February 27, 2004 at 0945 GMT a live sermon from the holy mosque in Mecca.
Shaykh Salih Bin-Muhammad Al Talib delivers the sermon, which he devotes to the story of genesis and the heavenly messages brought by the prophets, beginning with Adam and ending with Prophet Muhammad and the message of Islam. All heavenly religions, he asserts, came with one message -- worship of God.
"Therefore," the imam says, "is it not time the People of the Book [Christians and Jews] pondered and acknowledged that Islam is a continuation of the messages that came before it and that it is the religion that God has chosen for the whole of mankind?" "From the time of Prophet Muhammad, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him, until the Day of Judgment, God will not accept any other religion or creed," the imam says and cites the Koranic verse: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost."
Continuing, the imam says: "Have you not noticed that in the past 15 centuries history has not recorded that one single Muslim religious scholar has entered Judaism or Christianity? On the other hand, history records with letters of light the columns of rabbis and priests who have converted to Islam and linked their messages with its final message, which God has chosen for all mankind."
The imam makes this appeal: "Therefore, from the fountain of the message, the site of its revelation, and the pulpit of the house [ka'bah], which was built by Abraham and to which Moses and Jesus, peace be upon them, made pilgrimage, I make a sincere appeal along with our Prophet Muhammad's message to non-Muslims and say: Embrace Islam so as to be peaceful. Embrace Islam so as to be peaceful. Embrace Islam so that God would reward you twice. Otherwise, you, and those that follow you out of ignorance would have to account for your sin. It is an appeal to accept the truth and study Islam; the correct Islam that the prophet of guidance, Muhammad, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him, has brought; Islam as it really is, free of innovations and distortions; the Islam that is innocent of human violations and the errors made by some of its followers." The imam then reads this Koranic verse: "Say: "O People of the Book! Come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah. If then they turn back, Say ye: Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims bowing to Allah's will)."
The imam continues with the same theme in the second sermon. He says: "What has caused misery to mankind in these times of confused ideas is when some politicians hijacked religions and used them as a means to suppress others and a tool to dominate the followers of other faiths. This is what world Zionism did to Judaism. This is also what the so-called secular governments did to Christianity. They coerced peoples and occupied states by religious motives and claims of religiousness. And, although they deny these motives in their statements, they come out in their slips of the tongue and are unequivocally explained by their statements. The clerics in those religions are called upon to clearly say that they do not approve the behavior of their governments and that what is happening is not advocated by their religions so that their followers who are used in these attacks, those who think they are doing a good thing and getting closer God, would know that they are mere tools in the hands of the politicians serving their reckless whims, which are not curbed by religion or morals. These people's [clerics] silence and shy statements would only lead to the conflict or clash of civilizations. The racial segregation wall, which usurps Muslim lands in Palestine, is one example."
The imam says: "O Muslims, and now a final word on the roots. It is the duty of Muslims to strongly uphold their religion. The nation of Islam must believe that it is the only one on the right path, that Islam is the last of religions, that the Koran is the last of the Books and most importantly, that Prophet Muhammad, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him, is the last of the apostles, that the Islamic law [shari'a] is a copy of their laws, and that God will not accept any other religion. Thus, it is impermissible to concede any of that even if at the cost of our lives. We say this at a time when some defeatists have weakened and called for mixing distorted scriptures with Islamic religion under the claim of bringing religions closer to one another. We say it also at a time when some people's faith is so weak as to believe that everyone is correct. This began from the statements uttered by some and the behavior and theses written by others. It is as if they did not hear God's words: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never it will be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost."
The imam says: "If we are to renew the religious discourse, we must go back to the roots. This means going back to the Koran and the Sunnah. O God, show us the truth and help us to follow it, and show us falsehood and help us to avoid it. Please know ye, may God have mercy on you, that fasting on the 10th day in the month of Muharram [the first month of the new Hegira year, which began on 21 February 2004] atones for the sins of the two previous years. Fast on that day and also on the day before or after it. This is the tradition of your Prophet Muhammad, May the peace and blessings of God be upon him. He fasted on this day to thank God for saving Moses and his people and drowning the Pharaoh and his people. It is a strange paradox that this happy occasion has been transformed by a Muslim faction into continuous mourning and ceaseless wailing, in a picture that clearly shows ignorance of religion and following misleading persons without a good reason. O Ye, correct the path to God and follow the guidance of the prophet."
The imam concludes with a prayer to God to support Islam and Muslims, defeat the tyrants, atheists, and corrupt. He also prays to God to keep this and other Muslim countries safe and secure. He prays: "O God, spare us the evils of sins, earthquakes, and seditions, both the open and secret. O God, whoever wishes Islam and Muslims and their lands evil, busy him with himself, turn his plot against him, and make his plans destroy him. O God, support your religion, Book, the Sunnah of Your prophet, and your faithful subjects. O God, save oppressed Muslims everywhere. O God, support the mujahidin for your sake. O God, support them in Palestine and everywhere." The imam also prays to God to grant success to the king and his brothers in their endeavors for the wellbeing of the country and people.
"O Prophet! Make war against the unbelievers [all non-Muslims] and the hypocrites and be merciless against them. Their home is hell, an evil refuge indeed." (Koran, 9:73)
"When you meet the unbelievers in jihad [holy war], chop off their heads. And when you have brought them low, bind your prisoners rigorously. Then set them free or take ransom from them until the war is ended." (Koran, 47:4)
"When we decide to destroy a population, we send a definite order to them who have the good things in life and yet sin. So that Allah's word is proven true against them, then we destroy them utterly." (Koran, 17:16-17)
"In order that Allah may separate the pure from the impure, put all the impure ones [all non-Muslims] one on top of another in a heap and cast them into hell. They will have been the ones to have lost." (Koran, 8:37)
"How many were the populations we utterly destroyed because of their sins, setting up in their place other peoples." (Koran, 21:11)
"Remember Allah inspired the angels: I am with you. Give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: you smite them above their necks and smite all their fingertips off of them." (Koran, 8:12)
Koran-(5:51): O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
Koran-(9:5): But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, And seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) ; but if they repent (accept Islam) and establish regular prayers and practices regular charity then open the way for them; for God is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Koran-(8:65): O Apostle ! Rouse the believers to the fight, if there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering , they will vanquish two hundred; if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the unbelievers; for these are a people without understanding.
Koran-2:216: Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you
Koran-(2:191): And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
Koran-(9:29): Fight those who believe not the Allah nor the last day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and his apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of truth even if they are the people of the book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Koran(48:20): .Allah promises you much booty (spoils of war) that you will capture from the defeated infidels .
Koran-8:38 And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression
Koran-8: 15,16: O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them. If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)!
Koran -9:111: Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran
Koran-9:123: O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).
Koran-4:95: O ye who believe! Shall I show you a commerce that will save you from a painful doom? You should believe in Allah and His messenger, and should strive for the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is better for you, if ye did but know. ... Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than those who sit (at home).
Koran- [9.14] Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace, and assist you against them and heal the hearts of a believing people.
I guess it does not take a fatwah after all it is all there in the basic teachings of the koran! So you are either not a very good student or you lie. I guess time will tell.
Poor followers of islam the West can read.
I take their opinions of the, religions differences between Christianity and Islam , over some American who has NO real experience, any day of the week.
People can quote scripture until the cows come home.. the real point is,what do the people say who are involved in the reality of the situation?
Now there is someone with a valid point.
Americans do not understand the real Islam...talk to someone who has lived with, and escaped from these people and ask them about it... they won't tell you Islam is a religion of peace.
There is a difference between reading a book about the world and living in it.
LOL! Look at the polls on those muslims you trust so much. They support terrorism poll after poll after poll, because they know that those fighting jihad are better at keeping the faith than they are. I will take my studies over your supposed wisdom any day. I will follow all of the news reports daily around the world of muslims killing Christians, Jews and any other non-muslim like Hindus and I will stay free. I will know my enemy, I know why they kill everywhere! Stick your head in the sand or is it you have joined the dark side? You seem to leave that unanswered. I guess we can figure that one out for ourselves.
BTW on top of having studied the religion I have several lapsed muslim friends who are out of the clutches of their families and they know what they are talking about when it comes to islam.
We are done.
On the other hand, these people believe in order to follow their religion they must enslave women and kill people.
I grew up near Dearborn Michigan, and there is a large population of Iranian and Iraqi people who are escapees from their countries.
Barring some minor cultural differences, they were easy to get along with. They were very decent people and freedom loving people.
They were running from the "religion of peace" as much as anything else.
I always felt bad for the ones who wanted to go home to their countires, but knew they would be killed if they tried.
I can not imagine not being able to go home.
I just saw it last night. I can't think of a better therapy for the poor blind slaves of Islam!
You're not much of a 'student'.
There's a difference. Nutcase Christians who commit violence against innocents in the name of Jesus are very few, and are marginalized and happily locked up or executed.
Muslims who do the same are largely protected by their governments and celebrated as folk heroes.
The difference is in the scriptures of the two faiths. If you follow the Word of Jesus, you end up loving God and loving man to the point of sacrifice.
If you do the same with the Koran, you end up flying planes into buildings.
Again, don't assume your audiance here is ignorant. We know what the Koran says. We are basically asking the entire Muslim world to be like the Turks, who are really lousy Muslims (Thank G-d). 'Prophet of Doom' has simply taken the Koran and told the same story in historical context. Mohammed did more than just commit pedophilia. It is basically an Amway style death cult, whose goal is plunder, conversion by force, and control of the population through intimidation. The Taliban were pretty good at it. So is the Iranian regime.
Turkey is a terrible example of what Islam can be. They are completely backslidden. So are the fine immigrant Muslims who live here in the US who simply want to be a part of America. They are shameful in their practice of Mohammed's example.
What they need is a revelation of Jesus, not weak excuses from guys like you. You're not doing them any favors.
I don't know how to find tham and I don't feel like looking right now--it's only 7:30 am here. But in the West Bank and Gaza, and in polls taken among the general populations of certain nations, support for BinLaden is high, like well over 50%, IIRC. Even support for Saddam remains high, even though he killed more Muslims than anybody. I remember seeing them, and of course the media ignored them.
The ignorance is staggering. This is what you get when you deny the people access to basic knowledge about the outside world, and lie about the nature of Jews and Christians.
Again, it's all about control. Very Satanic.
