MARCH 3--The New York mayor who married same-sex couples last week was hit yesterday with a 19-count criminal complaint charging him with illegally solemnizing those unions. Jason West, the 26-year-old New Paltz mayor, is scheduled to be arraigned this evening on the misdemeanor charges, which carry a maximum of a year in jail or a $500 fine. New Paltz Police Chief Raymond Zappone personally handed West the criminal summons yesterday afternoon after consulting with the local district attorney. For his part, West has vowed to continue marrying gay couples this weekend, claiming that his action is supported by New York State's constitution, which guarantees equal protection to all.

Just can't wait to see this guy get martyrized by the media. But I'm still happy to see someone standing up to the madness. Chief Zappone is going to need all the moral support we can give him.

Ahh yes, The Peoples' Gayocracy of Queerifornica. Thank God I landed a job in Texas.
I will give them credit for recalling Govenah Gray, but they are a long way from decency, a long way.

Thanks Meek!
You know if the County Sherrif and the Town Clerk of the city mayor are openly refusing to abide by the major's direct order to honor his (the mayor's) gay (mairrage) authority - someone's gotta go!
Will it be the clerk, the sherrif, the mayor - who will be looking for a new job?
