American Splendor was a lousy adaptation. Instead of adapting his short stories or Our Cancer Year, the film is really about Harvey the celebrity. He got cancer and was cured in 15 minutes.

I actually get the feeling that we've won. It's not over. Not by a long shot. But the temper of the times has tilted our way. It's just a feeling. I hope it's real.

Hollywood copies anything that makes money and works in cycles.

You won't like it, but this is what will happen. There will be a string of big-budget Biblically-based movies in the next 6 years. They'll all be pretty bad and lose money. Then you won't see any more religious movies for 20 years.
