[history]
February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Cal is over 300 posts behind on the past thread.
Cal is on Ragtime Cowgirl's list cause Cal is a DoD poster on that team.
No conspiracy. No bad feelings.

That "48 hour" reference by Daleel came way after everyone showed Daleel their stupidity by not knowing the time period he claims is in the mad Dr.s speech.

Anything you can share? Also when did this 72 hour period begin?

Terrorism Task Force Searches Honolulu Harbor
Honolulu Harbor was the scene of an exhaustive search today after Coast Guard crews spotted suspicious activity in the water.
The Coast Guard launched an investigation after a watchman spotted a suspicious diver near a Coast Guard boat overnight.
That diver was never found, but the Coast Guard has called off its search.
And they say the harbor is safe. (snipped)

Last week we had a emergency simulation here in the Seattle/Tacoma area, for IF A DIRTY BOMB goes off. I have to say this, that a week ago, during one of the usual monthly (or is it weekly now?) alerts that are broadcast on tv (Detroit environs), which I usually only half-hear anyway, the announcer tacked this on -- that the warning would be sounded during a nuclear attack, or some such phrasing.
But the word "nuclear" was definitely in it. I was only half-listening, but that word was there for the first time that I've heard it.
To: jerseygirl
Remember there was some news article 2 or 3 weeks ago about that? In that part of MD.

I'm assuming that it would have started with Zawahiri's messages this morning. The posting was shortly after the message was released. Course that's just my best guess. Hopefully everything will be just fine. Zawahiri and Bin Laden both made statements in December and got goose eggs for Christmas. We'll never know for sure but you'll play heck convincing me something wasn't stopped.

Isn't Tempest used to detect CRT emissions and demodulate them so that you can remotely view the display? If so, then wouldn't LCD technology eliminate the risk of Tempest detection?Tempest equipment is shielded to prevent RF emissions of data signals that could be covertly intercepted. It is more than just the fabled CRT emissions.
