February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Bush may impose sanctions on Syria

Sources: White House is nearing a decision on economic sanctions for Syrian support of terrorists.
March 6, 2004

CRAWFORD, Tex. (Reuters) - The Bush administration plans to impose sanctions on Syria within weeks for its support of terrorist groups and for failing to stop guerrillas entering Iraq, congressional officials and other sources familiar with the matter said Friday.

Though the White House insists no final decisions have been made, senior administration officials Friday informed Florida Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior member of the House International Relations Committee, that an announcement was "imminent," said her spokesman, Alex Cruz.

Several sources said the administration was leaning toward imposing economic rather than diplomatic sanctions under legislation signed into law by Bush in December.

Avian Flu Found on Maryland Chicken Farm

By Associated Press

March 7, 2004, 12:39 AM EST

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. -- A case of Avian flu has been found at a commercial chicken farm on Maryland's Eastern Shore, the U.S. agriculture department said.

It is the same strain, H7, found last month in two flocks in Delaware, but officials said there was no known connection with the cases in the two states.

The outbreak is at a Pokomoke City farm with about 118,000 6-week-old broiler chickens. Officials quarantined the farm Friday evening, Maryland Agriculture Secretary Lewis R. Riley said in a news release. The birds will be destroyed Sunday morning and their remains kept in the chicken houses where they are killed.

Officials said 210,000 chickens on a nearby farm under the same ownership also would be destroyed because of "shared personnel and equipment."

But they said they would keep under observation some week-old birds on a third property owned by the same farmer.

Also, the state agriculture department quarantined 71 farms in a six-mile radius of the farm where the case was found. There are approximately 1,100 poultry farms on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Poultry in Maryland accounted for $441 million of the state's $1.4 billion agriculture industry in 2002.

Bush Gives Mexico's Fox Concession on Borders
Sat Mar 6, 7:15 PM ET Add Politics to My Yahoo!

By Caren Bohan

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) on Saturday gave Mexican President Vicente Fox (news - web sites) a concession on his push to ease border restrictions as the two leaders sought to rebuild a friendship soured by the Iraq (news - web sites) war and shifts in U.S. foreign policy after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Bush told Fox during visit at his Texas ranch that he will allow some Mexicans who travel often to the United States to bypass requirements that they be photographed and fingerprinted each time.

"We welcome the news that was confirmed today with regard to visitors to the U.S. from Mexico," Fox told reporters at a joint news conference after a two-day meeting with Bush.

U.S. Lags in Recovering Fuel Suitable for Nuclear Arms
By JOEL BRINKLEY and WILLIAM J. BROAD

Published: March 7, 2004

WASHINGTON, March 6 — As the United States presses Iran and other countries to shut down their nuclear weapons development programs, government auditors have disclosed that the United States is making little effort to recover large quantities of weapons-grade uranium — enough to make roughly 1,000 nuclear bombs — that the government dispersed to 43 countries over the last several decades.

Among the countries that received the highly enriched uranium, generally with the expectation that it would be returned, were Iran and Pakistan. The chief nuclear weapons expert in Pakistan recently made the stunning disclosure that his network had secretly sold uranium and nuclear technology to Libya, Iran and North Korea.

The auditors said they found that "large quantities of U.S.-produced highly enriched uranium were out of U.S. control."

CRAWFORD, Texas — President Bush {{{acceded to the demands of Mexican President Vicente Fox }}}and halted plans to fingerprint and photograph documented migrants entering the United States across the southern border.

During a news conference held after a morning meeting between the two men yesterday, Mr. Fox expressed his appreciation to Mr. Bush for scaling back the scope of the United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology Program (US-VISIT), exempting Mexicans who hold so-called "laser visas" from going through the additional security check.

WHY is our President giving into and acceding ANYTHING to FOX? Why is Vincente the boss of Bush?!

OK, flame suit on.

nw_arizona_granny once again got my hamster wheel turning and I have created a flyer for all of you subversives to leave on your favorite bulletin board, etc.

The topic is the Communist goals to take over America. I hate working in a vacuum, so please look it over and critique it for me. I think I caught all of the spelling and grammar errors, but I miss these things sometime. Assuming it is fit for public release, it is provided free for use. Copy the PDF and mail it to friends, make photocopies, whatever.

I made a wallet sized Constitution and Bill of Rights a while ago, but lost the file. Is there any demand for such a thing again?

BTW, you will need Acrobat Reader to view and print this flyer. Ruth, I don't know if you can open PDF files, so I might have to find a way for you to see it.

Blueprint for the Destruction of America

It is wonderful that you were blessed with a Father who is a gift from God or is he an Angel?

Definitely a gift from God. At least one out of two ain't bad.

I find today's communist to be the brain dead, raised by TV, new age type person. With too much interest in the occult and none in God.

I would say that is the profile of a "useful idiot". Someone who advances the Communist agenda without really being cognizant of it.

"Material presented here is the product of our research and experimentation in Superluminal Communication".

Well, "superluminal" means "faster than light". From looking at that website, it looks like a bunch of new age BS talk. I should know, I used to be quite involved with that crowd back in my foolish younger years. Most of those poor "hippies" are very insecure people looking for power. Some for "good" reasons and some for very selfish reasons. It's no surprise that Communism appeals to these people.
