What is a Troll???? I was taught as a young child that a troll is a hideous creature that live under a bridge that wants to harm children.
Apparently, there are a few subscribers to Free Republic that consider themselves the Troll Patrol.
Some authors of Posts to the Free Republic website are accused of being "Trolls". These people, whom call themselves the Troll Patrol, are trying to intimidate Americans who are wanting to express their thoughts and concerns to keep their thoughts to themsleves. This is an attempt to enforce censorship or pressure someone not to express themselves.
I would like to say to the Troll Patrol that this in not the old USSR or Nazi Germany in the 40's. This is the United States of America and we do have freedom of speech in this country.
If you want to find trolls, I suggest that you visit Sherwood Forrest there are probaly a few lurking around.
God Bless the United States and Protect Us From the Troll Patrol.

Don't send me Freeper mail. You don't know me well enough to send me Freeper mail. If you've got something to say, put it on a thread.

I apologize if I offended you mass55th. I am still figuring out how this forum works.

Then just sit back and observe and don't make a pest of yourself.

I've never had a thread pulled (except if it's a duplicate that I didn't catch when doing a search), been banned, suspended, or warned You predate me, but from what I hear, almost everyone gets in dutch sooner or later. Are you driving this thing right?
Actually, when I think of someone who would join you it would be my wife -- she would never in a gagillion years get in a flame war. She has too much dignity (she does NOT lack passion). But she can't see why I like FR, so maybe that's part of it.

LOL! How ya been?
This thread has been a hoot and a half! I saw an interesting post about Brooklyn (clearly the home of Bugs Bunny) the other day, and sure enough, there you were. But before I could post anything they wanted me to actually DO WORK WHILE I WAS AT THE JOB! The audacity of these people never cease to amaze me!
I wish I could say I have only been in trouble once, but it has, amazingly happened a few (well, a very few).
:)

Pretty darn good! And you? :)
The nerve of them wanting you to do work at work! Then again, the last job I had where I had substantial time available for reading/posting, the place went under (a dot-com that went dot-bomb). And, no, it wasn't my fault! ;D
Hard to believe it was only a week or so ago you and I managed to get a whole thread deleted! Just like old times! LOL!
To: WayneM
"You may be a troll if..." Oh, now THAT has possibilities for a good thread.

Hard to believe it was only a week or so ago you and I managed to get a whole thread deleted! Just like old times! LOL! Well, you have to admit, sometimes it helps to get the blood boiling a little to make life a little spicy. But what is cracking me up is the length and variety of posters on this thread. Howlin has been by, Sabertooth, you, I think I saw rdb, I think the only one I haven't seen is JohnHuang2 and maybe JR -- I mean this place is a whos who of FR!
My job right now is hurry-up-and-wait. I will be on and off until about 4:00 tomorrow am (7:00 am EST ;) ) -- waiting for some data conversion jobs to run, staring at logs to make sure they are OK, set the next step, then 20 mins of sleep and start all over again. Que sara, sara.

"Folks who repeatedly show up with fallacious arguments are also trolls." Yes, and for some mysterious reason, the house trolls seem to be able to get away with even the most blatant kinds of attacks and abuses of the forum. Maybe there are some trolls that Jim has developed a fondness for, or maybe he keeps a few around to spice the place up a bit, but generally their arguments are tiresome and completely predictable.

A week-old newbie posting a whiny vanity is a big no-no.
Having no concept of "free speech" doesn't help.
Imagine joining an established club and then in your first week, jumping up on a chair and loudly complaining about how "things are done around here."
It's not hard to picture being shown the door after that, is it?
