My recollection of 1998 is that the Republicans in Congress would have preferred for the whole problem of the Clinton scandals to go away (Kenneth Starr in his glacial manner was generating most of the pressure on Clinton), but Clinton brought on the impeachment crisis by his deliberately provocative responses to the Congressional questionnaire in November 1998 (after the 1998 elections).

In Monica's affidavit she says she does not know of any other person who had a sexual relationship with the President.
So--Bill told her that he and Hillary never slept together, and she believed him.

So there are several women, and none know, exactly, which one Drudge is referring to.
Drudge has his radio show on tomorrow night. I bet he will add some more details leading up to and including the show. For the next few days it will be drip, drip, drip, etc. On the McLaughlin Group tonight the entire panel, including Elinor Clift, responded in the affirmative as to whether this story had legs. The media knows more than they are disclosing.

This doesn't pass the smell test. If there was nothing to it she would be in front of the cameras spitting venom against Drudge and the GOP.She should be spitting venom on Kerry for "showing off" and allowing their arrangement to be known...for how else did Wesley Clark know? From someone else, who was told by someone else, etc ad infinitum. The guy is a cad.

Lets hope this firestorm takes Kerry down. Its unlikely that he will loose the nomination, but it will weaken him.
Isn't it interesting that the mainstream US media isn't covering this story? Seems to me like the British press and the rumors surrounding prince Charles (does that make Kerry American royalty?).

I'm torn between thinking these folks are setting us up, and thinking they want Kerry out of the way so he won't humiliate them. In either case, the smart thing for Republican pundits is to lay low. There's months to go before the nomination.

I wonder if she had an affair with Clinton?
Maybe they're asking the wrong question.

Please read what I have posted in this thread, before you suggest something that I most certainly have not said. No, it is not a Republican attack. But many on this thread seem to think it would be a good issue. They simply do not learn from experience.
It is not, and will not become a good issue for Republicans to take up, for the reasons that I have previously discussed. We can only lose ground by taking it up. Stop assuming that your reaction to everything is the world's. Step back, and understand the complexity and variation of human reactions.

So--Bill told her that he and Hillary never slept together, and she believed him. Oddly enough, this is one claim by Billy Boy that I actually believe.
