SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Scientists Study How to Keep Brain Awake

Why would a sleep-deprived brain fail to absorb conversations? Just how does it produce drowsiness while a person is driving? Indeed, how does it know it needs more sleep in the first place?

FBI: Banker lied after fight with wife
Ghias faces federal charges
By The Associated Press

February 22, 2004 (Chicago and Portland, Maine) — It was a dramatic story that began on Valentine's Day and supposedly involved a carjacking, a terrorist kidnapping and a one way ticket to Casablanca, Morocco. But it was also an elaborate web of lies that put federal authorities on alert and caused an international flight to be diverted while still in the air, according to the FBI.

Sunni Cleric Killed As He Leaves Mosque

Sat Feb 21, 8:43 PM ET

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A Sunni Muslim cleric was shot dead Saturday after he left a mosque in the Iraqi capital, a spokesman for a religious group said.

Sheik Dhamer al-Dhari was walking down a street near his mosque when gunmen opened fire from a car, killing him, according to Sheik Mohammed al-Faidhy, spokesman of the Association of Muslim Scholars.

Al-Dhari was not a prominent member of the association, but his half-brother, Hareth al-Dhari, serves as the organization's secretary-general.

Last week, the Association of Muslim Scholars issued a statement saying that "no one in his right mind" would reject elections in principle "but at the same time we don't want to have nominal or hasty elections and pay a hefty price for that."

Many Sunnis have opposed calls by the rival Shiite Muslim clergy for early legislative elections in Iraq .

Al-Faidhy, the association spokesman, said he expected more such attacks in the run-up to the scheduled June 30 transfer of sovereignty from the U.S.-run coalition to an Iraqi leadership as different groups compete for power.

"We expect ... that Iraq would witness many such operations to create chaos and kindle strife," he said.

Bomb-making network exposed by U.S. probe
Terrorists used same designs to manufacture explosives for attacks on different continents

Posted: February 22, 2004

U.S. investigators working for a new government forensic unit, have found indications of a global bomb-making network, following a probe into how terrorists manufacture improvised explosives.

The investigators concluded bomb builders used the same designs for explosives in the Mideast, Asia and Africa, according to a report in the New York Times.

I thought I was the only one with that conspiracy theory. Let's face it: it's a buyer's market. It is discouraging that most companies don't have the morals to treat their employees with respect when it's not economically expedient to do so. Speaking from the culture of fear that I just left, CEOs are out to do two things. Give their buddies stuff quid pro quo so they can get favors, and line their pocketbooks. Damn the consequences. Corporate culture comes from the top down, and most corporate leaders suck, and couldn't care less about the average employee.

Well, it looks like Daleel is back at IH. Claims his absence was due to "security problems" and is still promising upcoming operations soon. Not sure what the security problems means, though. Wondering if authorities are closing in on him as we speak. Can't wait til he disappears suddenly for good.
