SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

That's what I mean; a lot of rumors, etc. When one looks back at the history of WW2 and spies/sabotage in US/UK, very little info came out but hints abounded.

Statistically speaking, some of the false alarms had to have been true. Like the plastic "putty" with wires sticking out of it in a plane's bathroom over the holidays.

It's conjecture, but what the hey. Beats watching TV.

I actually got this last night, silly me (easy enough to get rid of though)... It came in the form of an instant message saying "Osama has been captured" and brings you to a flash type game of Saddam Hussein collecting nukes. After it runs, it shuts down all programs after resending the link to your entire buddy list. In about 12 hours yesterday it had been passed through much of our campus (University of Connecticut).

The "virus/spyware" came from a site with the domain "www.wgutv.com."

Here is the voice of Texas ;) Comanche Peak nuke plant is just S of Dallas/Fort Worth. With the wind from the S, the entire DFW area, a little under 2 million, would have to be evacuated.

The loss of power didn't cross my mind for the derailments, I was thinking that it could be mechanical failure on the part of track switching equipment, or the actual train wheels/equipment. Your experience reminds me of the blackouts from last summer, which were not explained to my satisfaction. Maybe the trains are experiencing the same type of software/electrical problems that were part of the blackout.
